WoW Moviewatch: Altaholic
The video for this song is pretty fun, with a heavy mix of machinima techniques and gameplay footage. The lyrics for this piece do a great job fitting the music, without any of the "forced" feeling which many parodies suffer. The vocals sounded a little funny to me, but that sometimes happen when checking out a movie through YouTube. However, EmberIsolte does a pretty good job of nailing Perry's voice technique from the original song.
It's nice to see Draenei surfacing as strong machinima characters. While that's not a direct commentary on movies like this, I think the choice of main character helps separate Altaholic from many of the other WoW parody pieces. Getting some variety in machinima is always a bonus.

I LOVED it! Pure awesome.
Like one of the above commenters, I'd have like to have seen some different video segments but the song itself was great, and the singing was spot-on.
I also loved her ninja raiders cover, and I'm looking forward to more from Emberlsolte!

That chorus is going to be in my head for a while.

Her vocal performance is fairly weak and is lacking in range. But for a machinima, the quality is about all you can expect. The auto-tune/voice modulation was way over-used. I wish people would just stop relying on this technology to mask their vocal shortcomings.

As an not-so-anonymous altaholic I don't really understand the resentment presented in the lyrics. But then I think that this is a parody and it's just that, I have to admit the lyrics are pretty clever, not just a few words changed.
But yeah I'm a lock and I'm rogue, mage and a priest, only thing I really haven't done is tank because I seem to suck bad whenever I dare try. Why do I have so many alts? Well.. To date I've sunk in some 200-300 euros in to the game as subscription fees and some odd server transfers, I want to get my money's worth. That means, exploring different classes and play whatever I feel like playing. I'm one of those few people who actually enjoy healing, but I like to kick back and DPS for a change too. And I take my classes seriously, I google up talent builds and tactics once/if I hit 80 with a char so I can do my group some good.

....it would have been *so* easy to make the chorus have the same pseudo-rhyming qualities as the original.... Without doing that though, it just seems like she's fitting words in where she can, not that they actually 'fit' where she puts them.
Also, I'm a proud altaholic and damned confident in my ability as a player. I play each of my characters unquestionably better than at least 70% of the 'core' single-players of each class that I know.

I've heard this song before with a different vocalist.
I can play my alts better than many people can play their main and I generally am :( at the "people with several alts are inferior players".

That was great. You could really tell a lot of work was put into it and the lyrics were good too. It's just one of those songs that begs to be be wow parodied.
Really...best thing I've seen on moviewatch in a while now.

Another lovely song from EmberIsolte but the video hardly does it justice. The scenes are incredibly repetitive. I had to just look away and listen to the song. All the same nice effort.

Altaholism is way much better than
"nothing-to-do-at-boring-level-80-ism".
