I'm just excited to see a balance change based around PvP that cannot possibly affect PvE. We need more of these.Also, the healing nerf counteracting the damage nerf is only a complicated way to do nothing at all in pretty much only situations where you're guaranteed to have a healer - ie, arenas.

The change is bringing the focus off of healing and onto survivability. making the players need less heals and relying less on there healer. Its a shift to the player being geared and less on there healer.

Agreed. I'm surprised to see a spell-specific debuff, as I thought the practice ran counter to Blizzard's design philosophy. Certainly, the devs can monitor changes in Season 8 to prepare for Cataclysm -- but if they can sequester PW:S and SS, they can conceivably increase warrior tanking DPS through select talents/abilities and nullify affects entirely in PvP.

Animalis, I sure hope that's not what's going on. There is already disappointingly low incentive for healers to run BGs. It's already the case that you can do #1 heals (over both teams) in a BG and still land somewhere near the bottom of the Honor Gained column. So healers (well, the ones like me, i dunno about the rest) mainly run BGs for the exhilaration of contributing strongly to an overall win. If I no longer saw my heals helping all that much I'd lose some interest.But I think it's not actually that severe of a change. I'm sure the better-healed of two teams will still win much more often in BGs. It's just that well geared Trees might not be untouchable pillars of auto-win quite as often, and Disc priests might stop being able to run impossible gauntlets of hurt, and other ridiculous situations that were quite common.

Again it is NOT a way to do nothing, I don't see why people keep saying this. Damage was reduced but healing wasn't. Thus you could heal up someone to full after they've been beaten almost to a pulp. More so if you can heal yourself. Thus they NEEDED to nerf healing in order for the effect to BALANCE. See balancing is not the same as doing nothing.The exact thing that happened here is BURST is going the way of the dodo, and CC and survivability is making a comeback. Fights will last longer and have more strategy involved (hopefully). And again it doesn't affect PvE so I think for the most part the majority of people don't give a damn.
