Coming from a raiding Boomkin who loved topping the charts in Black Temple and has the 2nd highest gearscore in the raid (under the tank - over 3K on wowheroes), it's painful to always be 3rd to 5th in every fight in ICC now. Something must be down, I don't want to have to shelve my favorite toon for my Spriest or Retadin.

10 man btw.

the problem with being lower on DPS meters isn't just the fault of Eclipse, but is a bigger problem with moonkin design as a whole.

I have a huge swing in my DPS between fights. I have the least stable DPS of all my whole guild. They put me in melee range on Festergut and my DPS is 2,000 or 3,000 higher compared to what it is when I stand at range for that fight.

Oh, how i would love to stand with melee during Festergut! Unfortunately, due to a lack of ranged DPS right now, I cannot. While I don't expect alot, I think some sort of sustained DPS while we move is needed. All other classes have something they can do while moving, we have MF and IS, and can make get off the occasional wrath.

I cry a little when we don't have enough ranged for me to be a melee-kin on festergut...

Lissana, maybe your guild could do what mine does. We make our moonkin the collapse target on festergut. In other words, let's say we have 3 ranged for 10man, myself (a mage), a hunter, and a moonkin. The moonkin will stand between myself and the hunter, and will be marked. No matter who gets the spore, we all go to the marked moonkin (if 2 melee get the spore, then one will run out to the moonkin). Obviously mages and hunters are much more mobile, so it just makes sense. The overall raid dps loss is much much less than if the moonkin would have to saunter over to the spore. On 25man, we have 2 moonkin, and each of them are the marked targets for spores. Between warlocks, mages, and hunters, there's no reason for a moonkin to have to move; shadow priests can at least dot, and an ele shaman can throw out a shock spell on the move.Moonkin are by far the worse choice for having to move when spores go out, for all the reasons you listed as well as everything graylo mentioned. They are by far the BEST choice imo for being a collapse target, because seriously, a big chicken has to be the easiest thing to recognize in the frenzy of a raid.

ohhh being the collapse target is a wonderful idea, My raid tends to make it one of the healers instead on 10man, but I shall have to suggest this. The raid leader is generally really good at listening, and one of the other ranged, a warlock, was a moonkin until recently when he decided dealing with eclipse was not for him. Maybe they'll agree this is a fantastic idea /hopesAs it stands if two ranged gets spores, and I end up one of them they want me to run into melee which is a lot of moving lol.
