This movie was created by RavenSylphG, who you might recall was the machinima creator of the incredibly popular Ninja Raiders. Raven has put together a new video for the song On the Horde. It's pretty nice to be able to feature more of her work, since I'm really finding myself enamored of her graphic style.
On the Horde is performed by Kirstieanne, Cryssy, and Sharm. (You're probably pretty familiar with Sharm from videos like I Kissed An Orc). This is the first time I've been exposed to Kirstieanne and Cryssy. I liked both of their performances, and think they did a good job singing with Sharm. I will admit that On the Horde didn't hit me as the best song ever, but I still respect the amount of work and effort that must have gone into creating it.
Ultimately, I'm really excited about seeing all four of these folks break out more music and videos into the WoW culture. I think theyr'e doing great things, and I'm eager to see what comes next.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
This comment seems trollish, but for real i couldn't understand a thing that was said during the whole video.....is it just me or does she squeeze 20 words into a 5 sec beat?
To quote Dank Cook - "I am bleeding from the ears here!"
The fizzle is horrible on some parts (0:17). I understand they don't have professional quality recording equipment and software but... Yeah. Also I don't recognize the voices who is who but someone there wouldn't even let inside the doors of American Idol, no vocal range at all.
It's not all bad, but. Yeah. The video is okayish which I suppose is what matters on Moviewatch.
This video was not even close to what I've come to expect from Moviewatch. The mixing levels were terrible--couldn't understand what they were saying except once in awhile I'd recognize "on the horde". There voices did not go together well at all, the words (or word like noises I couldn't understand) sounded extremely forced.
The video itself was interesting to look at, the first two or three times. By the end of it I'm agitated and thinking, Wow, you deleted ALL 42 levels? It must have taken... weekends to get to 42.
I think the video was about wanting to play Horde, because they are cool and sexy, or at least because Thrall is a playa. Not sure though, since I couldn't understand a word they were "singing".
The sound quality really killed the video. I honestly couldn't sit through more than 30 seconds. I hope they find a solution to that asap as I'd like to see a more polished version of the song.
Huh, I am a bit surprised about all the criticism. While I had trouble to understand parts of the song, which I blame solely on the fact that english isn't my first language, I found the music itself enjoyable, and the video very well done by itself.
I loved the shots and the effects and how everything fit together. It was visually entertaining and had a catchy song. Worked for me.
I have a feeling the reason you were able to listen to it all was because English is not your first language. I think that perhaps you gave up or passed off the fact that you couldn't understand it. English is my only language, I knew I was meant to understand the words, which is what made it so frustrating, having to sit there and struggle to try and decipher that... noise.
I have to agree. I enjoyed Sharm in the video where she was lamenting not getting a raid spot ("Why Can't I Raid?" I think it was called) but this one--I couldn't understand a word anybody was saying. The whole point of these parody songs is to take mainstream songs and redo them with WoW-related lyrics, so if you can't understand the lyrics that kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
Maybe this would work better if it were subtitled. Don't know. But I didn't make it through the whole thing.
The video itself was well done, but I was not able to understand most of the words. Even Sharm's part just sounded like a bunch of jibber-jabber, which was very disappointing since I've come to expect better from her (her lyrics aren't always that good, but she always dose a good job of singing them).
For that matter I'm not sure what Sharm was doing in here. The song was supposedly about re-rolling Horde (as far as I could tell from the few lyrics I understood), and Sharm just shows up for like five seconds in the middle to basically say "lol, eff you guys, Ally 'till I die". I agree with that part, being an Alliance player myself, but it's inconsistent with the rest of the song. Had the song played out like two Alliance players arguing over the idea of re-rolling, then it would have fit in much better.
Eh, it's not that I don't appreciate their hard work, but I wish there was less "music oriented" machinima. That's one of of the main reasons I started making my videos.
I'm not sure if I want to finish watching this after reading the comments. Had to stop playing it because my daughter, 19 months old, started screaming in terror at the first strains of music.
Which really should tell me something since she likes everything from ABBA to Tool with helpings of Johnny Cash and Rob Zombie. Let it be noted that Still Alive from portal is her favorite still.

If this song had been in English I might've understood what it was about.
Wait, it was?
Hmm...

I guess they can't all be masterpieces.

Incidentally, "This Is Why I'm Prot" sucked for the same reason. Horribly repetitive, and fell way short of it's potential.

Nyhm wasn't my type of music but I still loved it.
This was great until the whiny voice came in. Sorry, but don't post any more of this thanks. :/
