Fool for Love just got easier

Love is in the Air on most servers by now, and players should notice a substantial change in the way the event is being run this year. No longer do you have to furtively log on each hour on the hour during the course of the event in the hopes that you'll get that candy bag with that ONE piece of candy you need for the Be Mine! achievement. The candy bag, as well as all other random rewards from previous years are available on vendors in each capital city, and purchased with Love Tokens. How do you get the tokens? Well, you certainly don't have to run around begging people to give you cards and building gifts. This year, the tokens are available through daily quests. Since it's the first day of the event, we may not have seen all of the possible dailies, but here's the rundown on two of them:
Remember the Gifts of Adoration? This year, faction leaders are looking for jewelry. You can turn in a Lovely Charm Bracelet to the faction leader of your choice for a Lovely Card that will give you an hour long buff, and 5 Love Tokens. The method used to obtain these bracelets? Kwee will give you a Lovely Charm Collector's Kit with the following flavor text: "Pliers, bone saw, scalpel and sundry other tools allow for the collection of Lovely Charms from worthwhile enemies. Collect 10 charms to make a bracelet!"
Yes, you read that correctly. You murder beasts and creatures in your level range, and hack Lovely Charms off of their corpses.
I'm thinking I love this event already.
Other ways to obtain Love Tokens include the daily quest "A Perfect Puff of Perfume," which requires you to hose down ten players or NPC's with perfume. Vendors and city guards will work just as well as other players, so don't worry about running out of people to spray. This quest will also earn you 5 tokens.
The changes so far to the event make it much, much simpler to get that coveted Fool For Love meta achievement, and should provide a welcome change to players used to the same old grind from previous years. Check out the gallery below for the complete list of items available on the vendors, and stay tuned for more Love is in the Air info as it comes in!

umm, you hand the bracelets to the Leaders in each city, not the quest giver
Anne Stickney Feb 7th 2010 5:55AM
Fixed - and thank you for the correction!

Thanks to the changes to the event, I can actually now remark I accomplished something "back when it was hard."
Of course, I won't, but it's nice to know I could. ^_^

This makes me wish I had kept my Cologne and Perfume from last year for RP use but this new system will really help in becoming that fool everyone loves.

Below Dalaran, there's new mobs. Just AoE farm the hell outta them.
Banic Rhys Feb 7th 2010 6:07AM
Just like what the other 100 people there are doing...
That place is the worst place to farm charms.
Banic Rhys Feb 7th 2010 6:18AM
Also because no one loots the bodies you get hundreds of corpses lying around screwing with your computer.
And don't get me started on flagged horde trying to get other people flagged so they can gank them.
Viper007Bond Feb 7th 2010 6:51AM
True, but not everyone is on a crappy computer, a PvP server, or a high pop server. I was farming them just fine a few hours ago with no trouble.
PictoKong Feb 7th 2010 11:41AM
Easy trick: Get where there is no one else then you, you gonna farm these soooo fast
I recently found out the perfect spot, but im not enough stupid to say it.....

I've found that a great place to do it is the zombies at the start of CoS. Only need to one shot them, got roughly 30 charms not even going out of my way, just running the instance normally :)
Viper007Bond Feb 8th 2010 6:00AM
I retract my previous comments. Farming the Flame Lev trash in Ulduar is by FAR the fastest.
Henchwench Feb 7th 2010 5:47AM
It's a handy thing that you also get the charms from vehicle kills, like in Ulduar before Flame Leviathan.
pushmonk Feb 7th 2010 6:01AM
You can also buy one Love Token from a vendor for one bracelet. It's a pretty bad exchange rate, but it's an option for people that miss a few days of dailies and need to earn more tokens somehow.
Kaylin Feb 7th 2010 6:04AM
A great place to get the tokens is killing mobs for the tournament daily quest below Icecrown Citadel such as for the quest Battle Before the Citadel. Just ride over them on your horse for an instant kill, ride up the stairs to lose the bigger mobs, and repeat.
Korey Feb 7th 2010 6:10AM
Do you have to get the killing blow to be able to create a charm? Or can you farm them whilst healing your daily heroics, for example?
Anne Stickney Feb 7th 2010 6:22AM
You do have to kill the mobs yourself.
Valt Feb 7th 2010 9:35AM
@Anne
Not true if you mean "solo only".
We were doing UK heroic as daily and I got 3 charms each pack of mobs I used to aoe down. Not sure did I get "killing blow" or what but I dont mind, I got my charms.
Mandrill Feb 7th 2010 5:26PM
Yeah, this is miserable for healers: watching everyone in my party EXCEPT me load up on the Lovely Charms...
Ave Feb 8th 2010 9:26AM
On Wowhead there was a comment that said, for Battle of the Citadel (sorry dont remember the qiest name exactly, its the quest where yuo kill the 3 lieutenants with your horse) you can just run over the skeletons while mounted on the Argent Lance Mount and farm as much as you want which I did. Hope that helps for the achievement for bracers :)

Is the vanity pet still available?
