Around Azeroth: I'd rather be lonely
As Valentine's Day approaches, it's important to be sensitive to the needs of those people who have no one special to celebrate with, like Cutaia of <The Cunning Linguists> on Bronzebeard. "After seeing how much the Horde enjoys this holiday, I decided to ditch the hustle and bustle of Stormwind to take a romantic boat ride through the Undercity," he wrote. "Sadly, nobody wanted to join me. I'm so lonely. /cry." Think his guild name might be driving away the ladies?
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

I just discovered the stormwind love boats last night. Can't help but wonder who thought circling a prison would be romantic.
Wyred Feb 9th 2010 10:13AM
Would you say they are more or less romantic than the ones circling the Undercity sewers?
kabshiel Feb 9th 2010 11:41AM
Considering how disgusting those carnival "Tunnel of Love" things usually are, I'd say that the Undercity one is at least pretty authentic.

Darnassus has love boats too, you know. That's much more romantic to sit in. Too bad I am on Magtheridon EU so nobody loves me because THERE AREN'T ANY THAT CAN.
Oh, and while we are still at it:
Love, exciting and new.
Come Aboard, we're expecting youuuuuu!
Love, life's sweetest reward!
Let it flow, it floats back to youuuu!
The Love Boat soon will be making another run!
The Love Boat promises something for everyone!
Set a course for adventure,
your mind on a new romance!
Love won't hurt anymore!
It's an open smile on a friendly shore!
It's LOOOOOOOOOVE! Welcome aboard, it's LOOOOOOOOOOOVE!

Darnassus' love boats also have a special path marked out in floating candles. It almost makes me wish I was the kind of RPer who's willing to deal with IC romance.
What it actually makes me wish is that my husband hadn't canceled his subscription so our little gnomes could ride around in a boat together.

Lucky you can do that. On my sever (Rexxar PvE) they'd kill me instantly.
"lul omg alliance die"
"No wait! Im your friend D:!"
"lul die"
Im not saying all horde talk like that, its just an example of how I would die instantly.
2 Kinds of players:
PvPers
Casuals
From my experience Casuals are usually the nice ones.

If they're on the opposite faction how do you know that's what they're saying? Could be "OMG so sorry, when I hugged you I forgot I had a dagger equipped", maybe.
Martin Feb 9th 2010 1:47PM
A friend of mine was bored and figured out the right lettering/spacing combination to show the opposing faction "I love you". It's beautiful.

Wouldn't his guild name DRAW IN the ladies?
Ringo Flinthammer Feb 9th 2010 10:16AM
I know that my "bikini inspector" t-shirt certainly does!

If I wath a lady I would want my man to be a cunning linguitht.

Yeah, if that's driving *away* the ladies, yer doin it rong.
Eddy Feb 9th 2010 10:49AM
I'm pretty sure that most ladies would prefer men who didn't have to advertise their talents so much. The one who yells the loudest is probably coming up short.
Ghrall - Earthen Ring Feb 9th 2010 11:07AM
It's a joke, Chill
(cutaia) Feb 9th 2010 2:06PM
Eddy,
I assure you we are as adept at philology as our guild name suggests. I'm offended that you could possibly infer that our linguistics are lacking. And yes...the ladies love our grammar and syntax.
Rathwirt Feb 9th 2010 10:08AM
Those love boats are awesome. :)
Perignonic Feb 9th 2010 10:12AM
lol! isn't the guild title from the lyrics of "I'm not a F**king drag queen?"
Ringo Flinthammer Feb 9th 2010 10:17AM
No, it's an old joke that's been reused in many places and in many ways.
Hollow Leviathan Feb 9th 2010 2:32PM
OMG your name must be a reference to the song Ringo by Lorne Greene!
Wow players prove that if your tin foil hat is on hard enough, you see song lyric references EVERYWHERE. I should incorporate common catchphrases and sayings into any songs I write, so that instantly Warcraft is referencing me.
Karuna Feb 9th 2010 10:17AM
The Cunning Linguists? That really is cunning if he's getting away with calling his guild that.
