I agree, the present lvl 1 - 12 grind is terribly boring. Players are used to getting more than 1 ability to start.
Hopefully Cat.Xpac will make it a lot more fun - like playing Fable or Mass Effect or even War or Conan at the beginnings.
Easily Conan has the best 1 - 10 start - its the rest that was a let down - Talking quest givers with A1 rate voice actors is very immersive. And abilities that auto learn as you ding your early levels would be much better, since Blizzard is all about telling a story.
