WoW.com's Weekly Comic: Byron, the Tauren Rogue!
Welcome to another edition of the WoW.com Weekly Comic -- Byron the Tauren Rogue!
Here's a nice little Valetine's comic for all of you lovebirds out there. Sure, Gruuka is a good friend, even if she does pull his tail, call him names, and blame things on him. The young rogue-to-be assures us that girls are most indeed "icky," and "full of cooties."

I could never be friends with a girl. Girls are stinky, dum-*gets beat up by feminists*
Spacehyena Feb 12th 2010 12:49PM
This is cute! However, I must object to the violence in this thread--

Dude, you're not original because of that "distracted by puppies" shizzle. I bet you're a gi-*gets beat up by feminists*

Awwwwww.

These are cute, yes... but I wonder if the artist hasn't become a bit disenchanted at keeping it going. I'm guessing the first iterations took significantly more effort than these last four.
Maybe they're all part of telling the epic story of our beloved wanna be rogue, but I think I'd rather see that story told in the wholly epic style those first comics were presented in.
Ametrine Feb 12th 2010 11:34AM
well, part of the reason for the "crude and simple" style is because the artist is recovering from some hand/wrist surgery.
galestrom Feb 12th 2010 11:34AM
D'oh... Now I feel like an ass...
Hope your recovery's going well, oh inhibited artistry type person. :D
Tori Feb 12th 2010 11:35AM
You know that the artist, Kelly, had surgery on her wrist therefore she can't really draw right now?
kevinblack16 Feb 12th 2010 11:41AM
how did we find out she had surgery?
galestrom Feb 12th 2010 11:41AM
I honestly didn't. I'm a new fan of the series, and sometimes suffer from reading incomprehension. haha
Gotta giver her props for keeping it going though. That's pretty rad.
slythwolf Feb 12th 2010 11:50AM
@kevinblack16, we found out she had surgery when the first of these childhood diary entries was published and the post told us so.
Gnomedeplume Feb 12th 2010 2:34PM
From Feb 2/2/10:
"(Author's Note: In truth, I actually had surgery on my drawing hand/wrist on Friday, and am gimped and unable to draw. The regular comic will continue after I get this blasted cast off. Therefore, everything here has been drawn with my right hand [I'm left-handed.] Thanks for understanding!)"

Kudos to Kelly for incorporating her forced "sloppiness" into keeping the comic going while we wait for her to recuperate. Best wishes for a speedy recovery :)

I understand the artist is injured. The answer is to postpone production. Life happens, TDI happens, this is insulting. Your wrist is hurt, let heal then do it right; until then please stop.

Dimmak: "I understand the artist is injured. The answer is to postpone production. Life happens, TDI happens, this is insulting."
No, YOU are "insulted". No one else seems to be. In fact, the comments have, except for yours and a few who were unaware that she was incapacitated, have been overwhelmingly positive and encouraging.
So, you don't like it. And because you don't like it, you expect her to stop entertaining everyone else who likes it.
Selfish, much?
Tirrimas Feb 12th 2010 11:22AM
Ah ha...now we see his motivation....
So cute. XD
IvanP91 Feb 12th 2010 11:32AM
How's the wrist feeling?
Cadychan Feb 12th 2010 3:13PM
Better than last week, that's for sure! XD It still aches like mad when I play WoW for too long and the like. :/
I should be getting the cast off next Wednesday morning. Here's hoping, then I can give you guys some REAL comics! >_

Happy to hear the recovery seems to be going well. Thank you for using this time to give us some good character writing. Actually, I've enjoyed the cute art, too.
