(apparently making one of those squinty eyed faces cuts the rest of your comment out... o.O;)to realize all of this, otherwise I would have included a list of judging criteria. That's my mistake now.That said, the things that were looked at in picking finalists, in no particular order of priority were: originality, presentation, and effort. Originality is roughly about the concept. Presentation involves the care, quality, and composition of the screen shot, its location, characters and costumes. Effort is how much time we felt went into the submission. For the last one, what you guys can't see are the multiple screen shots, or companion stories or essays that came with each submission. Some readers pulled out the stops for creativity on this one. There were also many entries that were very similar. The finalists that were selected, were picked for best representing themselves among all the submissions, or from a group of similar submissions.
