Breakfast Topic: Breaking the bank

I have a confession to make. I am... the world's biggest collector of useless junk in game. At this point, bank space is something that doesn't exist unless I delete something first. From trinkets to weapons to armor sets to items that are utterly and completely useless, it's all sitting in my bank, begging to be thrown away, but I simply cannot bring myself to do it.
While some call me utterly mad for hanging on to outdated items and armor, others share my passion for collecting. We commiserate over limited bank space and remember the days way back when. The days of yore when pets, mounts and keys also had to be carried in bags -- and not the fancy 24 slotters people carry around today, no sir. We had Mooncloth Bags and we liked it. Well... we didn't like it, but there wasn't really another alternative. We are obsessed. And we need bigger bags.
There is one particular thing that all of my characters banks have in common, however. A full, unused stack of Really Sticky Glue.
I mean come on. It'll come in handy someday.
So how about it -- are you a packrat? Is there something you absolutely must keep on every character? And more importantly, what's the weirdest thing in your bank?

And an edit to the above.
A friend of mine decided, when levelling her Death Knight, not to complete any quests that required you to hand in someone's head, instead keeping them in her bank. I *think* she got to 20 heads or so, neatly lined up in gruesome fashion in her bank.

My bank is full of stacks of fish, which, i'm fairly sure is not frozen!
Some of that fish has been there for over 1 year .... yuk

My bank alt guild is . Only four tabs, but I'm tempted to go on a mining or herbing spree so I feel ok spending 2500 for tab 5. My "Clothing/Holiday" tab has been full for a long time, and since the lovely dresses are no longer soulbound, there's a few slots I can free up on my active toons.
The weirdest thing, I think, is actually on my Night Elf, my last remaining Alliance toon on my main's server. It is my husband's Tauren shaman's hoof, looted from Alterac Valley when I was still doing battlegrounds mostly as Alliance, but he had already switched to Horde. (He has her head in his bank somewhere.)
I keep all my [Tea with Sugar]s, too. (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=15723 if you're not familiar with the quest chain.)

Ok, the comments don't like angle brackets. :P The bank alt guild is "is a packrat."

I'm a huge pack-rat and I'm glad to see I'm not alone. I have a full set of tier 2. My epic hunter bow and staff you had to quest for. I can't seem to get rid of Linken's Sword of Mastery. Not only have I filled my main's bank but I send all cloth and tradeskill items I get to my bank alt to keep just in case I ever want to level a trade skill. My bank alt has a giant herb bag, engineering box, leather bag, and enchanting mat bag. I have to force myself to go in my banks and delete things.

I keep some old armor and weapons from pre BC and i'm still trying to get my Tier 2 set finished.

Being a big Legend of Zelda fan, Linken's Sword of Mastery will never leave my bank.

I have this thing that everytime I turn level 67, I go with every character and do the Teron Gorefiend questline. At the end of the quest I take the Stealther's Helm of Second Sight (the quest reward that looks like Bloodfang Hood) and use it 'til I turn level 80 and find a better alternative.
I have this on every character, my shaman, my paladin, my DK, my rogue... Everyone has to have it, even if it doesn't benefit much.

Still have my Tea and Sugar from Chromie. :)

I like to keep my [Mysterious Egg] all wrapped up in my [Egg Warming Blanket of The Necromancer] in the hope that it will somehow influence the RNG to hatch me out a green proto drake:)

I keep things that have meaning. I've kept the Legend of Zelda gear from Un'Goro Crater, and other such things.
I do have to admit, however, that my bank is mostly filled with cloth for my tailoring which I keep meaning to level but never do.

Lets see now... *starts digging*
There's ALWAYS http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9240 and the tablet that tells how to get it...
hmm..
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30632, a must have for every hordie *reminisces*
and ...
ah yes, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27978, 'cuz it's just hilarious.
And a lot of other quest items like Linken's Boomerang, Luffa, Orb of the Bleck Whelpling, Barov Peasent Caller, Carrot on a Stick, Captain Rackmoore's Wheel, Captain Sander's and Master Builder's Shirts, Lamp of Peaceful Radiance, Red Felt Hat, Clever Hat, Haliscan Brimmed Hat, X-52 Rocket Helm...
And then Ofcourse a bag full of momento bags too; Wayfaer's, Demonhide and Amani Hexcloth Sacks, to name some...
All sorts of books and tomes, Belamore's is a great read, aswell as the steamy romance novels.
Yes, I am a packrat, and well proud of it :D

My shammy keeps a Large Slimy Bone, Shizzle's Drizzle Blocker, and Strange Spores in the bank. They're fun to link together in trade.

I'm not on an RP server, and don't RP, but my bank is full of what I call " dress-up" clothes. By full, I mean I have to carry all useful stuff in my bags, because they won't fit in my bank. =p I have T5 and t6, plus some of the gladiator gear. I have weapons and offhands that I think are pretty. I have low level quest reward outfits, because they are cute. I have every Lunar Festival outfit. I have the gear set from the Scourge event, plus all the stuff you could buy from that. I still have a ton of toothpicks, hallowed wands, etc.
Nope. Not a packrat at all. =p

Just yesterday I was playing my Priestess, an alt who has been severely neglected, and thought I'd better check on her "bank alt". His name is Pocketts. He was given a guild some time ago with a gbank and a couple of pages of food, drinks and recipes. (The guild was planning to do a restaurant, I think.) Then later, a high level Priestess who was quitting the game gave my Priestess PILES of high level armour, herbs, weapons, etc. (idk...I guess I just live right.) So I revisit all this yesterday and realize it's time to declutter, but HOW? Do I dump it all on the AH? Do I hold onto certain items? And if so, which ones? See, pack rat mentality! Anyone have a guild they want to get rid of?
cendrekai Feb 15th 2010 9:46AM
My bags are full of old dress up clothes. I am not an RP server. but on holidays that require me to deathrun into an alliance town I get all dressed up.
I got awesome looking weapons a warlock has no business using (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28658). The entire scourge gearset + all the items. I love being able to call out my own paladin to save me.
But perhaps, the one thing I will NEVER get rid of and the thing I hate the most is http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28111. Yea. Never use that thing, but damned if I throw it away.
Lornicide Feb 15th 2010 9:47AM
I'm just the opposite. I hold on to nothing. Of course, I hold on to mats and whatnot in my bank alt's guild bank but, for the most part, my banks and bags are clutter free.
I organize all of my toons' bags the same. Far left bag holds fishing pole, food, hearth stone, elixirs, lures, etc. Next bag will hold some spillover, as well as maybe some offspec gear. After that, the remaining bags are empty with the exception of quest items.
Before I ever log off of a toon, I vendor what needs to be vendored, and send the rest to my bank alt to either store in the guild bank, or put in the AH.
Nothing I hate worse than logging into a toon and finding his bags overrun w/ crap. As an altoholic, it may be months and months before I log onto a toon. This is why I keep bags so clean and organized.

i recently deleted my season1 2h axe, the one i was running around with for the entirety of TBC. with savagery on it. 90% of my HK's were earned with this weapon. i used it while leveling to 80. i was using it when i got hacked and all my lvl80 items were deleted, thats when i did World Explorer. and now its gone. i traded almost 1,5 year of history for a free bag slot. and i'm happy because now i have free space for ramaladni's axe of culling :D
ROB13 Feb 15th 2010 9:49AM
I keep pretty much Everything and Anything Holiday related. But the real "star" of my bank are the items used for summoning the Dreadstead back when you had to do a quest to get it. True, I only used them two times, one for me one for a friend, but they will never leave my bank, I keep them as a reminder of the great times back then.
linkers746 Feb 15th 2010 9:55AM
Every single horde character i have still has their lieutenant's insignia, because i don't ever want to lose my status with the burning blade. XD
