Interesting that you bring up the "daily" amount....That's what I always have tipped for enchants or gem cuts when I supply the mats, but if its a crafted item that can only be obtained through dungeon/raid running, then I bring out the big guns, I had mats and posted in trade for Saronite Swordbreakers...the 245 plate defense bracers, someone whispered me immediately, and in 2 mins I had them. And for that, they got 200g.

When I had my 245 tanking chest made, I tipped 1 Titansteel Bar. I offered it in trade, and I had a Blacksmith answer me quickly :-) I always tip well, and I say how much I will tip when I am Looking for "Insert Profession Here" in Trade Chat. But I sort of have to, my comp ubersucks, and I get booted if I go into Dalaran during peak hours, so I have to tip enough to cover someone's time to come to IF or Shatt to meet me. So tipping 40g for a moderately difficult to find enchant is not uncommon for me, and if the person I am dealing with is polite and as prompt as they say they will be, I usually throw in an extra 10g. For me, the convenience of dealing with someone who treats their professions with some professionalism is well worth it.
