My largest tips are given to people who switch toons to perform a service for me. I truly appreciate that. That is another person somewhere, who took time out of what he or she was doing on his or her current toon, specifically to log to an alt, purely to help me out. I have noticed also that the couple times it has been done, it has been for a relatively common pattern, when I was only offering a 10g tip. They could do a daily to make the money quicker than log to an alt and come meet me. I really appreciate their effort on my behalf, and those people ALWAYS get at least 40g. It is the only way I have to show them I truly appreciate it. Actually, IRL is like that too. I am a small contractor, and customers always say thank you. But some of them say thank you, and never call again, even when I know they had more work to be done. They did not really appreciate me or my work. But I have had many customers call me again later for other work, or recommend me to friends and neighbors. I know those people appreciated my work. And I have even had a few customers put an extra couple of hundred dollars onto my final cheque. Those people DEFINATELY appreciated my time. And I carry that concept into WoW. If someone goes out of their way to help me, I throw some extra gold at them as proof that I noticed their effort.
