The three traditional rules of dueling are:
1. No consumables: this means flask (except of the north), food, and potions. Your giving yourself an advantage others might not have (healthstones are under debate, as while they are consumables, they are also summoned and have a talent that many take)
2. No outside buffs: Once again, your giving yourself an advantage that most others wont have, sure you can beat your enemy fully raid buffed, but how does that count as 1 on 1?
3: Only arena legal spells: Blizzard banned them for a reason, the classes that have them can use them as IWIN buttons...i know its tempting to go to full health and mana, or summon 8 ghouls to win the fight for you, but its not fair to the poor priest who has nothing to compete with spells of that caliber (in addition, Army ghouls are considered PVE mobs and will do durability damage, so your costing your opponent money too)
most people will frown upon pally bubble or healers who pillar hump, but keep in mind your class is designed and balanced with these mechanics in mind, if bubble was OP it would be arena illegal, and how do you expect most healers to win without pillar humping against a high burst opponent?
