Phat Loot Phriday: Abracadaver
Abracadaver isn't just phat loot. It's awesome loot. Not only does Abracadaver have the best name ever, it's got an ability that delivers on that name the way Pizza Hut deliver Pizza. That's because Abracadaver lets you pull a corpse out of your hat. The name isn't just a clever pun -- it's a clever pun with abilities.
My favorite use of Abracadaver involves logging into the middle of Dalaran. Pop the Cadaver, and then run around screaming, "I'm a death knight! I'm a death knight!" Noone's fallen for it yet that I know of, but any second now that's going to happen. It could be that the Summoned Cadaver created by the staff doesn't have any kind of special name.
Admittedly, the Cadaver doesn't actually do much damage. He swipes for about 200 damage per hit on unarmored characters. While that's not a lot, you may decide his clever animations make up for his low damage. Or you may not.
In any case, check out more information about Abracadaver behind the cut.
Name: Abracadaver

Getting Rid of It: If you've grown tired of your dead best friend, you can turn Abracadaver into an Abyss Crystal. It also sells for 30 gold.

They never learn, do they...?
Right, anywhoo, I manged to snag this little beauty this week, it finally having dropped for once and I have yet to see anyone else (on the same faction, at least) with it. I'm quite ecstatic to have such a fun item also be a major upgrade for me.
The hit has definitely the largest appeal to me, since playing as FFB-spec on my mage, the gear I've been grabbing had always just been short of my cap (even with a moonkin debuff helping in that department). It feels so nice to not be gemming for hit now.
I know there's calls of "Get Nibelung!" and the like, but frankly, that is not a weapon for MY situation...yet. Besides, with the massive amount of people after the darn thing, I wouldn't count on being able to outroll half the raid, anyways, even if I *did* want the darn thing.

I knew someone who had a undead priest named Abracadaver. I thought it was pretty clever. Then I saw how many other Abracadavers there were on the Armory. :p

For the unaware, the term abracadaver was used in an episode of the Powerpuff girls, and perhaps more famously, by Montgomery Burns when he takes the oldest citizen award from the previous recipient in an episode of The Simpsons.

It was also the name of 'Cradle of Filth''s own (shortlived) record label (check 'Damnation and a Day')

A friend picked this up a few weeks back. Soooo jealous that I have absolutely no business rolling on it as a Prot War, because I love the name.

feral weapon for world pvp weapon-switch
gotta make sure to organize my ICC10 crew to make sure only casters who already have this or better are in my raid...
Eregos ftw! Feb 19th 2010 9:50PM
As a healer, I might very well take this if it drops and nobody needs it. Just for the sweet effect!

I lost this on a heartwrenching roll last week... would have been such a sweet staff on my lock!

Wait.. I missed this one..
guess it's time to start leveling my little warlock named Abrakadavra ^_^
(whose name I randomly came up with and really liked... until everybody kept commenting on it 'oh you got that from harry potter! Hur hur' aarghhh)

Got one a little while back. Though it really looks awesome, the pet it summons does practically no damage, which is a bummer.\
However, it is pretty cool to hit a macro I made to summon it:
Hocus.... Pocus.... Abra.... CADAVER!!

I keep thinking of the Steve Miller Band...now I'll have that song in my head all night.

The pet won't attack level 80 mobs unless you're attacked first, however he has no problem running like 30-50 yards to attack mobs that are about 20 levels lower than me.
He's also quite fragile, any AoE will pretty much instantly hit him, but he's outside the item stat budget, so yay.

Picked one up a couple of weeks ago... I call my cadaver Deadbilly. He likes to play. But oh, the irony when 2 days later I won a dagger and offhand in ICC25 that immediately put Deadbilly into the "only when I'm feeling weird" pile.
Still, sweet staff for a few days. And a new playmate for my other summoned weirdness.

I've had it for a number of weeks, and with a 15 minute cooldown I have the thing macro'd to my Curse of Doom.
Two things. One, it sometimes bugs and just stays with me instead of attacking my target. This may be because I already have a "pet" out. Secondly, this thing will die in one hit in any form of AoE. Useless, yes. But it's still My Little Corpsey.
