I mentioned this on the part 1 article several days after it was posted, but I thought it was worth posting again here. Spark of Hope ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45703 ) seems to me to be an absolutely amazing arcane trinket that always gets overlooked.Because the 42 mana reduction applies to the base cost of Arcane Blast, this trinket reduces the mana cost of all Arcane Blast casts by 19%. Since Missile Barrage Arcane Missiles are free, this means that Spark of Hope reduces the mana cost of your *entire rotation* by 19%.Also, the 100 spirit on the trinket provides some decent regen and 55-70 crit rating (depending on whether or not you have the t9 2-piece bonus). But that is only a bonus. The significant part of this trinket is the mana cost reduction of the arcane rotation. The reason I think this is nice is that it allows you to spam 4-stack Arcane Blasts for significantly longer during burn phases, and you can spend less time evocating during normal DPS situations. What do the rest of you think about this?

Er... that's 19% for the first AB, 6% for the second and so on... so that is not 19% of your whole rotation...

Interesting trinket for arcane at least, but isnt going to give you satisfying damage bonuses -its not as fun, and not as poweful, and plus, that freindly preist who likes mages over warlocks because we dont lifetap will totally despise you. And personally, id like to join up with the preists against the warlocks, so dont annoy them.

Back when Ulduar released, i remember reading on Elitist Jerks that it was the 6th best available trinket at the time for arcane mages. Two patches later, I would say it's nice, but no where near BiS. Besides, healers need it more, so unless no healer needs it, i would pass it to them. (even if the healer does not currently have mana regen problems, trinkets are often swapped out for different fights.)

"Er... that's 19% for the first AB, 6% for the second and so on... so that is not 19% of your whole rotation..."No, it's not. The 42 mana reduction modifies the base cost of the spell, and Arcane Blast's mana cost increase works as a percentage of the base cost. Therefore, even the cost of a 4-stack Arcane Blast is reduced by 19%.
