Can someone explain to me,If having the scourge be uncontrolled would be more dangerous than Arthas being the lich king, doesn't this mean Arthas was restraining the scourge. IE he had not completely lost control of himself? Or was he just such a poor commander that his minions would be more powerful without his direction?

Arthas liked to toy with us, he could have wiped out everyone on azeroth while we were focusing on outland if he wanted.

Well, Arthas as the Lich King suggested that it was his ploy all along to get the greatest warriors in Azeroth into his domain so that he could take control over them. Obviously this plan backfired, due to the will of Tirion Fordring and the Ashbringer. So it's not that he couldn't have destroyed Azeroth, but that he didn't want to launch that destruction until he could prepare his harbingers of destruction (i.e. we players). That would explain all the times he let us survive...so that we could prove ourselves worthy.
