Patch 3.3.3 PTR: Upcoming profession changes

There are a number of profession changes being introduced in patch 3.3.3. Most of these changes revolve around the speeding up process of crafting. For example, the cooldown and location requirements for Tailoring items like Moonshroud, Spellweave and Ebonweave? Gone!
Some craftable items have had their costs reduced.
More changes after the break!
Runed Orbs: Recipes which require this item have had their material requirements significantly reduced.
Fishing
The "Monsterbelly Appetite" daily fishing quest has changed so it now takes place outside the Violet Hold in Dalaran. The quest still requires a Severed Arm and has been renamed to "Disarmed!"
Inscription
Most recipes that required 2 inks now only require 1.
Mining
Titansteel Bar: Creating this item no longer results in a cooldown.
Tailoring
Glacial Bag: Creating this item now invokes a 7-day cooldown.
Better start generating more of these bags now if you hope to sell some of these on the auction house or for your alts.
The cooldown and location requirements have been removed from creating Moonshroud, Spellweave, and Ebonweave.

no details about the new flying carpet for tailors? : (
Alastegiel Feb 21st 2010 5:35AM
the new pattern will be buyable in dalaran from frozen orbs
ProTech Feb 21st 2010 4:03AM
If you check the Frozen Orb NPC picture, he is on the new Flying Carpet :) I will make one for sure, when 3.3.3 hits.

I hope Blizzard intends to do something about those crafted items that still require Frozen Orbs. With prices for the orbs already skyrocketing in anticipation of their conversion to currency in the next patch, it hardly seems worthwhile for a jewelcrafter to burn an orb a day just to make an Icy Prism. Mercy on us please, Blizzard?

And yet there's STILL a 20-hour cooldown on gem transmutes.

YES YES YESSSSSS, seriously as an alchemist i want a new trinket, even if it cost me saronite out the rear, with zillions of eternals and the blood of all of the endwing bosses in icc, i would want to make a cool alchemist trinket just for the potion makers
Hoggersbud Feb 21st 2010 12:15PM
I concur. Alchemy hasn't gotten anything new even when other professions have. I'd also take a new JC trinket too. But really, alchemy needs one.

Stupid changes...
Blizzard removes each and every "nice feature" out from game, turning it into "grey mass". Sad... Cooldowns are very good feature, preventing everything to be "cheap as chinese".
So, who causing such "improvement"? Children of blizzard "warchiefs" "kant by enough cloth and tytan stil bars"?
Seedcake Feb 21st 2010 3:45AM
...what?

speak english, dammit

It's near the end of the expansion, BlackTiger. Having cooldowns on items after this would be useless.
I'd say in 3.3.5, we might see the Alchemy transmute cooldowns abolished, as well. It isn't because they want to make it easier...it's just because, after Cataclysm comes out, no one will care about the cardinal rubies, the titansteels, or the special cloth anymore.

Stupid poster...
BlackTiger removes each and every "intelligent thought" out from comment, turning it into "grey mass". Sad... Thinking is very good feature, preventing everything to be "dumb and kind of racist".
So, who causing such "downranking"? Children of wow.com "warchiefs" "mrglgrglgrgl"?

I think "blacktiger" is a pretty cool guy, eh knows all and doesn't afraid of anything

actually, making the bags now would be amazingly unprofitable. the cd was put into place so the market doesnt get flooded with 22 slotters. the cd on those cloths + the annoying travel to make them being removed ultimately means the extravagant prices on the specialty cloths will drop to the price of the mats give or take, noting the mats are gonna drop aswell considering frozen orbs can trade for eternals.
essentially, i see these things selling for the price frostweave bags use to sell for a few months ago, 100-150g. current value of mats is in excess of 400g depending on your realms current market.

I get the impression they're giving love to Runed Orb recipes because they're not seeing a lot of them produced these days.
I'm almost certain this won't fix anything. I haven't seen a single Ulduar blacksmith recipe on the AH since 3.3, ever. I check every morning and evening. They might need to up the drop rate on the recipes if they want to see wider use.
aintchuherd Feb 21st 2010 9:54AM
Ok..I was happy when you said no cooldowns for the spell, ebon, and moon cloths, but now a glacial bag CD of 7 days...OMG the price on those alone will boost to 5k, because they are goin for 900-1100g now on my server. but it scares me, there has to be some way to balance out the mat availability with AH pricing for high item level Crafted epics. This may introduce the CD's on the patterns and not the mats...would create a particular problem for high lvl Tailors that Agonize over creating new patterns for self or AH..

The price won't go up that far. The Gigantique Bag and Portable Hole are not Unique equipped.
Ergo, the upper limit of price on Glacial Bags is limited by its replacement with vendor items.

Ergo...Vis a vis...Concordantly!
