Sunday Morning Funnies: Red shirt mistake
Alas, this week's list is merely an average size. What does that mean? Many artists are busy, away, injured, or have websites that aren't working. Fortunately for us, there are some really great comics this week to make up for the loss of bulk.As for last week's trivia, GI_Prophet wins with 'American Psycho.' Hex will share the glory for recommending the book. You both win a virtual and imaginary lifetime supply of custom business cards, which happen to taste like jelly beans. They're non-toxic, don't worry.
This week's trivia question is: What is being referenced in LFG's comic #332? I will accept several answers, so feel free to be creative. Of course, the prizes aren't real, but there's always the glory, right?
As always, I'm taking tips. Have you seen a WoW-related webcomic not listed here? Has an older such comic been reactivated?
Drop a note and a link in the comments section, or respond by sending a tip to the site's main tipline.
- Slash AFK: Say What? and Good Form.
- Complex Actions: What's in a Name?
- LFG #331 and #332.
- Torment of the Week: Orc-a-nomics Part 1.5.
- Equinox and the Gutbuster.
- NPC: The Exchange. Also: Trekkie Exposed. How could she not have known? The Big Switch. The artist has also been playing around with her art style this past week, which is always an interesting thing to watch. Of course, I really must wonder; is Chloe recovering all right? Is fat Bink still adorable, or has he become an insufferable braggart?
- The almost latest comic from Guilded Age is more WoW-related/relatable, so it's what I'm linking.
- Dark Legacy Comics: Valentine. I love how he let down his hair for the occasion! On a more serious note: Good show! I only wish there were a way in-game to be able to beat down someone of your own faction, that could only be invoked in cases of jerk-mergencies.
- Catch up on the latest Byron, The Tauren Rogue!
- Beyond the Tree: Occupational Hazard.
- Teh Gladiators: A Tale of Meadows and Mathilda.
- Battlemasters: Courage.
- The Daily Blink: I <3 Kobolds. Also: Got Any Mana? and Forsaken Accused of Racism.
- Another Fail Druid adventure.
When I wrote this, I could not for the life of me get Daily Quests or The Warcraft Hero to load properly. Now that they are working, and even though they've been linked in the comments, I'm going to add them!
- Daily Quests: Love Is In The Air.
- The Warcraft Hero in Horse Power.

Yay for Young Frankenstein! Yay to me for winning tasty Business Cards!
Ramco Feb 21st 2010 9:15AM
I say Futurama, where Dr. Zoidberg tries to put Fry's arms back on his body after cutting them off.
Malkavos Feb 21st 2010 9:34AM
Gotta go with everyone else on this one. That line is from an old Frankenstein movie, but it gets a lot of parody play (from Muppet Babies to Weird Science). As far as the parts getting put back together in the wrong place, maybe it was also inspired by Futurama.

It's referencing a very bad porno movie.

They are in line at the wooden outhouse in Searing Gorge, waiting to get the quest, Ledger from Tanaris

Frankenstein, but I'd also go with John Carpenter's The Thing--and if it's not referencing that, then it should be.

DLC: Loved this week's, and I agree - there should be a way to put the smackdown on some people from your own faction (other than dueling).
LFG: Frankenstein, of course :-)
Me: Crappy week, under the weather, no comic - sorry. This week, though, looks to be a little better and I'll throw you a double-dose of Crossroad-y goodness! :-)
Brasson Feb 21st 2010 10:30AM
I think I may see two references. The first and most obvious being the 1935 Frankenstein movie, the second a possible Marilyn Monroe pose.

The story in DLC has a moral in it. If a gay asks you out, accept or at least don't be rude when rejecting him (even if he was rude himself by not asking you about your orientation first). If you don't do that, he will comeback with friends and beat you up.
Kajira Feb 21st 2010 1:31PM
Not many people react well to "are you gay?". It's probably better to just go ahead and get your actual intentions out there.
Zuckerdachs Feb 21st 2010 1:53PM
Yeah, it's best to just go ahead and politely ask for the date. Mature folk will at least be flattered, even if they do turn you down. ;P I *am* gay and my first thought when people ask is "Oh jeeze, what stereotype are they applying to me now?"
Hex Feb 21st 2010 8:05PM
So do you expect all straight people to ask the orientation of their love interest too?
The lesson ought to be "don't be a dick...especially in WoW where we have no moral compunctions about griefing griefers." Or perhaps "we're sick and tired of homophobia in WoW."
rawrawrawr Feb 22nd 2010 12:16AM
I'd go out with Keydar in a heartbeat =D.
Kia Feb 21st 2010 10:31AM
Complex Actions made me lol as always, but how did you guys forget Daily Quests? It's always one of the best ones here...

Still miss WoW, Eh, too. :( Get well soon!

Service Unavailable
HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.
maybe that's why.
Tokkar Feb 21st 2010 10:56AM
@Zhiva - looks fine to me. Try clearing your cache and refreshing. If that doesn't do it, then it's an IP resolution error which sometimes happens after a server update (yesterday, I got the 503 error as well, but not today). Give it a few hours, if this is the case.
Cadychan Feb 21st 2010 11:48AM
Tonight! Tonight, there will be a new comic! ;D
