Cataclysm: Stylish overcloaks!

The thing about our cloaks is that the ones that give us the most power for our characters aren't always the ones that look the best. Turns out that is about to change. Our friends over at MMO Champion have revealed a new Overcloak function. They're entirely cosmetic in appearance and allow you to slightly customize the look of your cloak. It appears there will be a toggle option of some sort for players who wish to display their cloak along with an overcloak. My guess is that these cloaks will be incentive rewards that come from reputation, limited seasonal drops or really rare drops (like mounts and companion pets).

These overcloaks are many colors, and shorter than your average cloak or cape.

FYI, the overcloaks appear to be entirely replacing your equipped cloak's look, not just adding a faction logo on top of it.

So if you already have a cloak that looks awesome, this won't necessarily make it better.

For example, a cloak that I could think of that is while and longer than your average cloak or cape.

So first we had Shirts, Tabards and Standarsd for each city now we will have cloak covers for it....

Oh good...another useless thing for me to collect! (Believe it or not, that's not sarcasm.)

And please, please give us a guild overcloak. Some of us like pimping out or guild colors. :D

Having played a lock for so many years, wearing a tabard looked as though I was wearing a tucked in t-shirt. Having the option to wear an overcloak with my guild symbol/colors would be pure win.

@Scott Unfortunately you (as well as I) will have to bear with the tucked in tabard for much longer as it only covers your cloak.

Honestly, WTB option to hide tabard!

Only reason I'm wearing it is a free port to the argent tournament dailies without taking a bag slot, or the rep rewards for my alts. Most tabards look awful imho, especially when tucked in.

Hrm, maybe with more visual options being added we will see the return of plate bikinis? I know people were talking about that way back in vanilla: being able to choose the "male" or "female" version of their armor with a UI toggle. If they do something like that I'm going plate bikini all the way!

Now if they could only stop weapons from clipping through the cloak... I have cloaks that look fine, but turn them off because I can't stand the clipping.

Can we get shorter overcloaks? Please? As much as I know most people love the ankle-length look, I just prefer the cloaks that are about back-to-butt length (and I adore the shorter split cloaks like http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12552# -- which I wore forever on my hunter in Vanilla.) But sadly, these cloaks seem to have gone the way of the dodo while end-game cloaks are all the long ones with snazzy graphics, causing me to turn off my cloak graphic on more and more toons.

Shorter overcloaks with the old, simple graphics? Please?
