The Daily Blues

Welcome to a new daily column at WoW.com! In this column we'll rounding up all the blue posts and other Blizzard news and quotes from around the internet. We'll be publishing this every night, and as long as Blizzard is posting, you'll hear it here at the end of the day, in a nice and handy post.
While the column will be 90% WoW, 10% of it or so will also be about other Blizzard games. We realize a whole lot of you (nearly all of you?) are at least passively interested in StarCraft II and other Blizzard games, and we hope we can keep you apprised as necessary about all that news as well.
Ghostcrawler
The intent of the Immolate buff was to buff Destro.
This is one of those situations where you can't just say that Immolate is used by Demo so it buffs Demo too. It does. But it buffs Destro a lot more because Destro gets so much more benefit from Fire spells.
If you think this is not the case, please provide us some evidence using math, simulations, target dummy parses or whatever.

We're working on a large forum post to go step by step with how some of the existing gear will be changing.
Overall, we want everyone's damage, healing and tanking to stay about the same, but given that talent trees are changing at the same time as gear, it's going to take some adjustment.

PTR Forums
We're working on getting Anasterian back up. Also as a reminder:
Q. I need help right now.
A. These forums are not monitored in real time, often it will be many hours or even days before a QA representative will be able to read your thread.

Usually I do like having individual threads, but I'm willing to try something new for this round of PTRs. If it's a simple bug, feel free to post it here. Otherwise create a new thread.
Thanks for all the hard work guys! It really really helps! (That said, please don't bully other people in to posting here. It's not the end of the world if we get a few dupe posts or posts that are outside of here).

General Posts
Keep in mind, music is something that's highly subjective -- even music found in a game, such as World of Warcraft. Also, something else to consider is that we put a great deal of consideration when putting music in each area as our goal was to compliment the area. I find that the music in Stormwind is as fitting as the music in Orgrimmar.
How you go about picking your guild is an interesting one. Personally, I picked mine because most of the people on my server that I played with were there. Then we kind of just stuck together over the years, and have ended up as a big group of good friends, both online and offline.
K, I understand that you could get Conquest in the past, but you can no longer, so why keep them in-game?
Players who may not have played since the emblems were 'phased out' will still have some of them, maybe even a load of them! They'd be very upset if they logged back in to find they had a bag full of useless emblems. It's the same reason we still have the Commendation Officers in the capital cities.

The system isn't completely random, but it's not also designed to determine what dungeon you enjoy the least and assign you that dungeon as often as possible.
You really want to focus on defense to become uncrittable, however, resilience is currently able to help you achieve the goal of being uncrittable. I would not recommend that anyone seek resilience gear for this purpose -- but if you're near cap and happen to have an item with resilience that will get you to where you need to be, then you might want to equip it until you get a more appropriate "PvE" upgrade.
In our continuing expansion of the World of Warcraft five-year anniversary site, we now bring to you an ongoing series of player interviews. We begin today with an intimate look at a unique role-play guild, Shadowclan, which has carved its own niche within the Warcraft universe. Read how World of Warcraft has shaped this guild's gameplay experience in different ways over the years on our anniversary page.

Froums is such a cuter word than forums. D=

I'm sure I'm not the first to mention the formatting issues with the new blue quotes and the mobile site. Zooming out is unavailable and since there is no wordwrap, one must scroll back and forth with every line.

Latin nerds prefer "fora"... :p

"we hope we can keep you appraised as necessary"
Either they meant "apprised," or they'd better value me at no less than $10.5m. :D

Lets call it:
MMO Champion!
Falcon6 Feb 23rd 2010 9:59PM
World of Raids.
Tankspot, I believe.
Wowhead does it sometimes.
Heck, Blizzard has their OWN blue-posting archive.
Not like MMO Champion was the only place that had this.=P

OMG Wow.com has a search bar! Can you guys be any more of a Google ripoff?
Seriously though, loving the new blue quote feature.

I don't know what happened there...

Before anything else: @Adam BSG Pride!!!
Now, on to the meat of the post. Having a blue tracker is a great way to catch all the blue posts of the day. My guess is that most of the time these blue posts will already be linked in the appropriate article and this would just be a quick look for anyone who didn't read the article or click the links. When they aren't already included in some article, they're likely fairly general, and all you would really write about it is "hey, check this out."
Rather than competing/ripping off/usurping MMO-C (or any other site with a blue tracker), this is just a simplification for users. If people only have time to check one WoW site, shouldn't they get as much out of it as possible?

Ashlar took the words out of my mouth. Blatant ripoff of MMOChampion.
Luisette Feb 23rd 2010 9:59PM
Not everyone reads MMOChampion on a daily basis, nor should they feel that they have to in order to get the same information.
Adam Holisky Feb 23rd 2010 10:00PM
Actually, several large sites do daily blue roundups.
MMO-Champion's strength is not repeating blue posts, it's in doing the best data-mining on the internet. Anyone can do a blue post roundup, but only Boubouille can do what he does.
Lissanna Feb 23rd 2010 10:00PM
Um... They discussed all this kind of information constantly anyway. They just consolidated it into 1 post per day.
Reuben Feb 23rd 2010 10:02PM
Kay, so go over there.
Alex Ziebart Feb 23rd 2010 10:02PM
I love MMO-Champion, I really do. I even talk to Boubouille on IM fairly frequently, either talking business or just friendly chatter. What BB does is an awesome thing.
But saying reposting blue posts is an MMO-Champion ripoff is completely absurd. There are many sites that do this, and they've been around since before MMO-C. MMO-Champion just happens to be the biggest right now. http://blue.cardplace.com/ started in 2005 and lasted until the end of '09.

I should also take this opportunity to note that we'll still be covering the breaking news and major points on their own (with their own posts), and our columnists will still be integrating Ghostcrawler's comments into their weekly columns; but this way we're also ensuring that we're not going to miss anything and cover our bases 100%.
Plus, I can talk about SCII then, and how I'm always fracken dying in every match because all the pros are in the beta right now; and my RTS skills need some refinement.

Ooo, look! ANOTHER first poster to the WoW.com forums and it's a troll comment.
/facepalm
