Because I am a lore freak, I have read all of the Knaak WoW books. But that is the only reason. I generally read a book in one setting, and I am a huge fan of fantasy novels. But Knaak is just... I don't want to sound like a troll, so I am weighing my words here, but his books do not enthrall me, they do not make me want to read. No, I see it more as a chore. OR! A treasure hunt, looking for valuable pieces of lore hidden somewhere, and taking the story and writing as a necessary evil in order to complete my hunt.
If I then compare that to Golden, well, to me at least, the difference is huge. She does manage to capture my attention and I do want to read the book for its entire content, I do want to take it all in.
I'm an avid reader, although I of course do pick and choose what I read, I don't just devour everything I come across. But Knaak, well, I'm sorry, but his books are amongst the most boring ones I have read.
