There's indisputably been a lot of music videos as part of the machinima scene lately. Wowcrendor recently even posted an anti-music-video music video recently. With their freshman effort being another song-based video, Epic Dream Entertainment replied to the issue by creating a more story-based video called Sisters - A Gnomes Tale.
Comparing this new video to Fat, Ugly and Flying would be difficult. Sisters - A Gnomes Tale is a short comedy video with an easy to understand premise and quick execution. Epic Dream is really showings its ability to go between multiple platforms, though, with crisp voice acting and a flair for scene execution. These are elements that weren't as prevalent in Fat, Ugly and Flying, and this kind of variety says good things about the creatores.
I thought the punchline was pretty funny, even if it's all at the expense of gnomes. I'm really liking the work put out by Epic Dream Entertainment, and I hope they keep pursuing machinima.

A nice break from the music videos. We need more movies with a story and less movies with a popular song. Something that shows the effort the creators put into making the movie. I'm not saying the ones who make music videos are any less creative or don't work as hard.
Err... I don't know if I LOL'd, but it wasn't a music video, and the camera work was good. The punchline was kind of blah for me--but again--glad to see a non-music video!
If it's done well, a music video is enjoyable to watch. Sadly, a good chunk of it these days has been "top 40" stuff like rap, hip-hop and bubble-gum pop, or overdone heavy rock like Evanescence, and almost always with an overabundance of blood elves. I wouldn't mind a video with, say, trolls and tauren kicking it to some Kate Bush or something, again if it was done well and with as much effort as has gone into some of the Belf videos, but...damn. Belf pop overload these days, and I think that's the main complaint of the music videos and not so much the fact that they're music videos.
That being said, this one was a refreshing departure, was nicely done, funny, and enjoyable to watch, though it could have been a lot longer in my opinion. Still, for those of today's younger generation that have the attention span of a gnat...hey! (j/k)
Nice job and I wouldn't mind seeing more from EDE.
Did I just hear monkey island music or something very similiar? *happy tear* ;_; 10/10 just for that.
The story was very nice...yet wierd one. I usually dont like long films and this one really didnt feel like it was stretched out. Special effects were once again like it meant to be. Took while to realise what he meant about "sister" tho..
That was cute, not really my sense of humor, but well done. I actually don't care if it's a music video or not as long as it's well-done and interesting. The problem with so many music videos is that a lot of it is the same stuff over and over, not that they are music videos.

Very nicely made. It's nice to see something that isn't another music video and is comedy ontop of that :D

I'm thinking that was the point but I may be seeing what isn't there. ;)

Good job, I think.

Uhm... Anyone else notice how far the tongue was "in cheek" on this one? ;-)
I'm kind of happy they took up the gauntlet. A good theme war could spice up the whole machinima scene. :)

The first 18 seconds of a 2 minute clip needn't be used for showing off the machinima maker's studio name.

It's the Hammer of Woe or something like that, it drops from the Maiden of Grief in heroic Halls of Stone. And it does indeed look pretty!
