Patch 3.3.3 PTR: Minor Jewelcrafting changes

Yesterday an updated list of changes for PTR patch 3.3.3 was released. Ranging from new pets and mounts to the LFD dungeon stats being tracked, there have been a lot of tweaks. Jewelcrafting is no exception to the rules of change and like other professions is seeing some small changes.
- Icy Prism now requires Frozen Orb, Chalcedony x 1 (Down from 3), Shadow Crystal x 1 (Down from 3), Dark Jade x 1 (Down from 3)
- Intricate Bone Figurine (Daily Quest) - Craft an Intricate Bone Figurine by combining the Proto Dragon Bone with a Sun Crystal and a Dark Jade. (Old - Chalcedony + Dark Jade)
Just like Inscription having the material components reduced for many of it's recipes and the Titansteel cooldown being removed, I think we will continue to see this trend as Cataclysm approaches. Making it easier for players to hit their profession skill caps before the expansion drops is a very good way to get people ready for when the skill cap is raised again.

I agree that if they are making things lighter for professions they might want to look at the ability to acquire Jewelcrafting tokens.
-Cooking dailies have the possiblity to obtain extra rewards, and the Waterlogged Recipe (awarding 5 Dalaran Cooking Rewards) is frequently in my Bag of Fishing Treasures.
-With the Dungeon Finder tool, it is now easier for Enchanters to obtain Dream Shards (I can obtain several in one day using the Dungeon Finder and as my enchanter is not yet high enough to worry about them, I am basing this solely on the finder grouping me with an enchanter).
-Leatherworkers can obtain arctic fur by turning in Heavy Borean leather (that they craft, and is only a monetary burden if they do not skin, and even then I have saved hundreds of gold pieces by buying the equivalent in Borean leather and scraps instead of Heavy Borean Leather). Also if the Leatherworker has six Borean leathers they are guaranteed a Heavy Borean leather while a Jewelcrafter may have 5 titanium ores and has roughly a 60% chance of even getting any titanium powder. On my server 20 Heavy Borean Leathers stay about 120 gold pieces (arctic furs are usually 60 so it is pretty even) and 20 titanium ores cost 325.
Other professions may rely more heavily on patterns obtained through reputation rewards or drops, but as I have never had difficulty in obtaining a recipe I was after (including Mongoose -for a guildmate so don't yell at me saying I just said I didn't have an enchanter- and Jeeves) I am not sure how limiting this aspect actually is.
Perhaps I am off base, and the approximate one year and five months it would take to obtain all the purchasable Dalaran Recipes is actually fair and balanced compared to the other professions and their recipes, but from where I am standing, it hardly seems that way.
TLDR; moar JC tokens plz, Bliz, kthxbi.

Will they ever introduce some ENCHANTING dailies (and some new recipes would be nice too)

I'll trade you the dailies if I can buy my recipes with 'green' quality gems.

Chalcedony must have the lowest % drop out of all the gems (prospecting them from Saronite Ore). Out of 235 ore prospected 2 days ago, I got a total of 4 chalcedony - compared to 8-12 of each of the other gems.

Good. I recently switched from my main over to my death knight and since i was going for some fun break from my main i figured id take jc as ive never leveled it before.
It took me all of 3 days to level it from 1 to 450 and in the following days i learnt to hate chalcedony!
I literally have multiple stacks of every other none epic wrath gem and no chalcedony's, if i find one its an automatic daily more often than not. if im lucky to get 3 i make a prism. On the flipside i have about 60 red and orange gems that serve no major use when i can make bold dragons eyes and bold cardinal rubys.
So its nice to see some kind of change, ive felt that the burning crusade has been seen as a failed experiment and abandoned lately. This gives me a little hope for some Dranei and Blood elf characterization in the future, im hopeing the future of desolace will get the Dranei all worked up to defend there new home from the legion or soemthing.
As for blood elves, i dunno, maybe that big troll city.. Tor'Watha? might open or something. Going off tangentially there i know, but i was exploring eversong woods for my dk's explorer achievement and its such a beautifully designed area but i hope the cataclysm brings some well needed progressive changes, and im an alliance player.
The guys called loremthar or something right? yeah. make him do something.

Chalcedony definetly suck, but I'm almost *always* out of those damn Dark Jade! I've prospected BAGFULS of both saronite and cobalt and only ever managed to get a handful of jades and tons of everything else.
Its gotten so bad that some days I can't even do the JC daily because I don't have any dark jade. There's never any on the AH either. So yeah...1.74 or w/e epic gems a week is nice, but I rarely even get that because of bad of bad prospects. Not even gonna get started on icy prisms.... *sigh*

+1 on Dark Jade
Maybe it's just because I also have an alchemist to transmute them, but I have to choose between 3 (plus Mastery chance) of those and an Icy Prism shot. Then I'm out of Eternals and back to farming all that stuff.
Given all the CDs that are being removed, removing the one on Eternals would rock, or at least take them off the same CD as the jewelcrafting transmutes.
As a new 455 JC'er, though, the tokens are the main pain point. Reducing the amount of Titanium Powder, reducing the number of tokens, putting blue cuts on the trainer instead of purchased, or making the powder a low-probability prospect on Saronite would all help.
