The Daily Quest: What do you think of patch 3.3.3?

If you weren't aware that patch 3.3.3 hit the PTRs this past week, there's a very reasonable chance that you live under a rock. (Though, if you're reading this, it must be a rock with exceptional internet access.) Now that we've had a few days to think over the cornucopia of news that's been thrust upon us, let's look out upon the vast internets before us and see what they think of the latest patch.
- Birdfall talks about the novelties of 3.3.3.
- Slice and Dice analyzes the rogue changes.
- And Forever a Noob brings us more rogue discussion.
- Frostheim talks about the buff coming to beast mastery.
- At Big Hit Box, Imonaboat talks about 3.3.3 for frost-spec death knights.
- Gypsy at Mischief, Magic, and Rocket Science suggests that 3.3.3 is time for mages to break out the pitchforks.

What do I think? I think we're halfway to 6.6.6, the patch of the beast. It'll be the end of days, I tell ya!
Tokkar Feb 25th 2010 12:27AM
Nah, not until 6.6.8, the neighbor of the beast patch. You know what they have to say about those neighbors that are always so quiet...

I'm still waiting for my new spell icons. Yeah, I play a Shaman.
Matthew Feb 25th 2010 1:33AM
My buddy in my guild asked me "how do you play your resto druid?"
I told him "Use the healing spells that have leaves on them"
Thats all of them except tranq! I do like the bubbles

The 2-seater rocket mount looks pretty interesting. Can't wait to hear more info on that in 3.3.3 ptr.
Banic Rhys Feb 25th 2010 1:02AM
I bet you it's either a taxi, it has a far, far, far lower drop rate than the Love Rocket or it's from the TCG and it will be going for around $3000 on ebay.

I'm hoping it's tied to the Gnomeregan event.

I don't really care about anything other than the possible taking of Gnomer/Echo, and the possible new cultist questline, ofcourse they could be just in the files to spring out in the next patch (3.3.5) :D

One poor podcast, lots of ads. Definitely an excellent idea - thanks for the spam.

My guild and I had been thinking Blizzard was gonna pull a Sunwell on us, and we were right!
Personally, I'm pretty excited (me being Alliance since original beta) and I'm glad the gnomes are starting to actually do something with their huge city that's been filling with more and more troggs, ooze and miscellaneous robots for a while now. Only thing stopping them was Mekkatorque's cosmetic update. He needed a bit more armor I think.

Sunwell? Where?
All I see are class tweaks and Sarth 2.0 on the horizon.. no sightings of a tacked-on yet deliciously overtuned raid... yet.
V Magius Feb 25th 2010 9:20AM
This might be better compared to the Isle of Quel'Danis. The closest thing to the Sunwell might be the Ruby Sanctum. I'll have to double check if Ruby Sanctum was slated for this patch or the next one.
I'm excited to see the new event in action. Something new to do, and Cataclysm will be right around the corner.
Veras Gunn Feb 25th 2010 2:40AM
Eh, don't think much of it. I'm a Fury Warrior, and nothing that's really been put up on the PTR really changes much of anything for me. Interested to see what comes from it for the Pre-cata events, but beyond that I'm really just waiting for 3.3.5 for the Ruby Sanctum.
Banic Rhys Feb 25th 2010 3:24AM
Better than a nerf.
Ross Feb 25th 2010 9:03AM
the backward way they do it now, is they dont nerf dps warriors , they just ignore us and buff the other classes.
Pyromelter Feb 25th 2010 12:21PM
QQ moar? Warriors are in a fine place right now. No, you are not rogues, but no one else is. Warlocks are the only class getting real significant dps buffs, while mages are going to be nerfed into the negative world in 3.3.3. You're gonna feel like you got buffed once the patch hits, as you'll be destroying every mage out there assuming you've got a good weapon or two.
Just be glad you aren't getting hit with the nerfbat.

I'm still confused. Passive buffs such as Ferocious Inspiration which gave a temporary group buff off of a particular trigger are now always on? I don't get it, wouldn't that make everyone a bit OP combined with all of the other passive buffs?
Hollow Leviathan Feb 25th 2010 3:34AM
I'd love to know how much money Blizzard is secretly saving on bandwidth with these significant reductions of combat log spam. These changes really affect nothing except the elegance and brevity of your combat logs.
Wyred Feb 25th 2010 6:48AM
That does seem to be the intent of most of these changes. Some of it makes the buffs less random, but some make no difference at all. Case in point, renewed hope for disc priests. Previously procced every time you cast a shield, 100% uptime. 3.3.3 version, procs once every 20 seconds, 100% uptime, much less combat log spam. Hell, if it makes the game run smoother I'm all for it.
analogkid Feb 25th 2010 10:53AM
No, it wouldn't make you OP. Ret Pallies give the same buff with their auras, so it's making it the same thing. I believe mage Arcane Empowerment is also the same buff.
