Patch 3.3.3 PTR: New battleground mark conversion

Check out the latest from the PTR -- battleground mark to honor conversion is now up, with each battleground mark you've squirreled away worth an astonishing two thousand honor per mark. For people that have been PvPing since vanilla, that adds up to a lot of honor. Thankfully, there's places to spend it.

Check the gallery below for a full list of new prices on PvP mounts and legacy PvP gear. As of the current PTR build the new Commendations of Service are not account-bound, which means you can't send them off to alts like their Wintergrasp counterparts -- meaning players may be swimming in gems when the patch finally goes live. If this changes, we'll let you know. Stay tuned for more 3.3.3 PTR info as it develops!

Neat. I can turn in the AV badges i've earned from 50-70 for honor now :D
Aerie Feb 26th 2010 9:08AM
For the concerned, if you had 100 marks in each of the BG's (I'm assuming WTG does not count in this), that's 1.2 million honor.
Yum.
Karuna Feb 26th 2010 9:12AM
I've got 100 marks in a few bgs, something i'd like to point out though is that thanks to the change where your battleground marks stay in your mail for 30 days ( as opposed to the 24 hours it used to be) the amount of honor some of the more die hard bg players will be able to get when this launches will be much higher.
Jamesisgreat Feb 26th 2010 9:51AM
Yeah - my mailbox is currently overflowing with AV marks as I've been grinding for honor for the new PvP gear.
I really can't see this going live with this much honor. Otherwise, shouldn't we all be running BGs all the time now to store up on marks? As by storing up marks you can effectively avoid the honor cap and squirrel away thousands upon thousands of honor!
In fact, bugger this - I'm off to a random BG near you now....

What's this about marks being mailed to you? o.O
Tremelizzer Feb 26th 2010 10:22AM
@Heather: Battleground marks have "unique limit" of 100 per each mark. After that point all excess marks are being sent to you by mail.
Jamesisgreat Feb 26th 2010 10:24AM
If you have 100 marks you cant carry any more so they get sent to you in the mail, where they generally sit until the mail expires in 30 days, or you spend some of your 100 and then can go collect them.
Karuna Feb 26th 2010 10:28AM
|When you get 100 marks from any battleground, the battlemaster sends you the marks in the post after the game. They used to self delete after 24 hours but recently they changed it so that they stay in your post for a month instead.
What this means is that some of us have 100 marks in a few battlegrounds and then marks for every bg we're maxed up on stock piled in our mailbox. For me I'm always in ab and wsg so I'm always constantly capped for both.

Will the honor cap be finaly removed?
L Feb 26th 2010 11:23AM
I hope so, or at least raised.
Cephas Feb 26th 2010 3:38PM
As of the current PTR build? No, it's still in place and unchanged.
Playge Feb 26th 2010 9:11AM
Time to unload those epic gems I have been sitting on with my bank alt, the market is going to tank for them with this change.
Can't say it is all the bad though, I'd rather have access to gems via honor for my raiding then the extra income anyhow.
Kaz Feb 26th 2010 9:14AM
I wish they let us turn in the marks for rep. So many fail WSGs and ABs left me with many marks, but little rep....
Ezence Mar 4th 2010 7:23AM
Please do!
Exalted = 1200 captures or 400 wins, a huge effort for players who split their time between PvE and PvP.
Mr. Tastix Mar 17th 2010 7:23AM
Or, in the very least, allow rep tokens for Honor.
Panduh Feb 26th 2010 9:15AM
Expect a HUGE increase in Battleground activity up until 3.3.3's release, thats what I foresee anyways, imo, BGS are just my way to
1. Screw with the Alliance.
2. Get honor for PVP Mounts.
3. Get honor for gems and by extension my only way of gold income (I'm gold-farming illiterate, everyone says how easy it is to get gold these days, I must be missing out or just plain ignorant).
SHould be fun changes but myself I'm going to start farming them marks. =P

13000 Honor for what is arguable the greatest RP Shield in the history of WoW? Why, yes please! My Warrior's been eyeing that Warlord's Shield Wall since he was level 54!
Rockstaert Feb 26th 2010 10:31AM
Same for me with the alliance version :-D.
But seriously, from just over 12k honor + 20 marks, to 13k honor while each mark gives you 2k honor? When i read the 1 mark = 2k honor, i suspected it to be more around 40k honor, but than again that would be the same as lvl 80 gear....
Well, i will not complain, give me that Grand Marshal's Aegis! It's perfectly with my Imperial Plate Armor :-)
Volaro Feb 26th 2010 9:15AM
Wow, honor prices for lev 60 gear was lowered big time. That's pretty snazzy.
Karuna Feb 26th 2010 9:16AM
Just a quick question, I see that to get your honor you have to exchange each battleground mark for a Commendations of Service which then i presume u click on to recieve your honor. My question is, how high can you stack Commendations of Service? Seems like a nice way to hold honor uncashed in my inventory to me, just wondering how much i'll be able to hold.
