Winter Olympics 2010: Ghostcrawler promised me a moose
Last night on the Colbert Report there was an interview with olympian Seth Wescott. Seen in passing footage is the image above. Yes, fans of WoW and members of the Colbert Nation, Ghostcrawler promise of a moose has gone to the Olympics.
We have no idea who the creator of the sign is, and we don't have any idea if he actually was given a moose -- however I'm sure Ghostcrawler will want to hand deliver him one after reaching international fame and stardom from this brief moment on the Colbert Report.
A larger image, full of more truthiness, can be viewed here. You can also view the entire Colbert Report episode over at Hulu. The moose sign comes in around 20:43.
Many thanks to Sean for the tip!

Man, I am so hoping to read a rebuttal to this from GC in tonight's "Daily Blues"...
Eyhk Feb 26th 2010 1:13PM
Definitely!
That should be a Feat of Strength w/ title
The_Reflection Feb 26th 2010 1:06PM
WoW just got the Colbert Bump.
Magus Feb 26th 2010 2:51PM
Who better to handle the Moose distribution than an NPC of Stefen Colbear?
If the artwork/likeness are a legal concern, we should at least get a mail message from Stefen Colbear with the [Moose Master's Reins] attached.

I'm pretty sure the reason that Colbert's agent rejected the idea is because Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom, failed at naming him properly.
Stefen Colbear? It should have been Stefen CULL-bear.
And just for that, I'm going to Felwood to kill infected bears. FOR CULLBEAR!!!
Lantokk Mar 3rd 2010 10:03PM
And remember that Stephen Colbert has a serious bear phobia. He might actually like the Cullbear idea. lol Bears are always high on his threat meters.

I love when WoW crosses over into the real world. It makes me smile.
JediMasterEric Feb 26th 2010 2:05PM
I have to agree. I'm still smiling! I know it showed on our program in the states, but its cool that people from all over the world saw the sign there. I wonder how many people asked that person about it. Hehe! Awesome!
Bzak Feb 26th 2010 1:07PM
Yeah, GC, you better hurry up with that Moose...the Olympics are ending soon.
Sane Feb 26th 2010 1:11PM
Or a beaver!!!

Bag of milk, imo. ;0)

I was watching the rebroadcast last night, and I sat up when I saw that shot, asked my gf if she saw that.
She told me I was imagining things and to go back to trolling the forums... LOL wait til she sees that now.
I also cant wait till the twitter thing tonight when we can ask him about it.
Ponies, who wants ponies? I WANT A MOOSE!
galestrom Feb 26th 2010 1:13PM
Olympics? Pft.
This is clearly a tea-partyesque protest over the lack of a moose companion.
spectre0034 Feb 26th 2010 1:34PM
I can see that you're using words, but do you know what they mean? I fail to see correlation you're supposing between a protest in defiance of a monarchy for a states right to self-govern and Blizzard stating two years ago their, at the time, intentions to have something in-game corresponding to the Olympics every two years.
Crowqueen Feb 26th 2010 1:40PM
It's called humour.
CM Feb 26th 2010 1:42PM
@spectre0034
He's not talking about American revolutionary protesters dumping tea into the bay as a form of protest. He's talking about the current group of crazy people in the US who hold "tea party" rallies to protest things they don't understand but they are really, really angry about.
spectre0034 Feb 26th 2010 1:47PM
@CM,
I stand corrected. Also, that is just sad. I pity you intelligent Americans having to deal with that.
galestrom Feb 26th 2010 1:48PM
haha, I pity us too Spectre. ;)
Luci Feb 26th 2010 2:37PM
@CM
This is not a political forum, but there are extremes on both sides and failing to realize that makes you just as "crazy."
Not all tea-party goers are extremists, that's just what you will see most covered by the overwhelmingly liberal media.
The simple point of the current tea-party movement is to protest the "big government" ideal we are currently experiencing. Liberals/Democrats think that government intervention is the way to fix the economy and other problems, whereas Conservatives/Republicans believe more in localized power to the states and the free market's ability to regulate itself.
"He's talking about the current group of crazy people in the US who hold "tea party" rallies to protest things they don't understand but they are really, really angry about."
If you are going to attack a group of people you should have a more clear understanding of their viewpoint than "things."

@ Lusi
Or, maybe you can expand on this topic and give specific examples of what kinds of things upset tea-partyers instead of "STOP MAKING FUN OF US FOR HAVING AN OPINION YOU DONT UNDERSTAND!" The reason democrats like me dont understand is because, frankly, you guys wont tell us. Bipartisanship is key in trying to solve problems. Cooperation?
