Yeah, I don't think a mission escorting Varian would work. There's no incentive to NOT kill the little milksop much less save him. I'd stick him like a pig the instant I saw him and the timeline be damned. And yes, I realize alliance could say the same thing about Thrall in Escape from Durnholde, but you have to look at from both sides. Thrall is at least a statesman about things. Varian is all, "Kill 'em all! Kill 'em all! Filthy animals! We have to put 'em all down!" Thrall has every reason to hate the Alliance too. He was enslaved and forced into gladiatorial fights. His NAME even means slave. It'd be perfectly understandable for him to slip into the same mindset as Varian, but he stays diplomatic. This leads me to the conclusion that Varian is just a jerk and QED stuck like a pig. Now, War of the Ancients would be pretty cool. Especially if it involved fighting alongside Broxigar, maybe holding off waves of Legion until Sargeras himself shows up, where he's have his showdown with Brox. Seriously, have you read Brox's story? Here it is right here: http://www.wowwiki.com/Broxigar Go read that. The most badass character in the whole mythology. I mean, who else has personally gone up against Sargeras, by himself no less? And he actually managed to hurt him! Granted, they in all likelyhood wouldn't actually show Sargeras, but just killing a mountain's worth of demons and then Brox jumping away toward some shadow of Sargeras (they showed one of those in Frozen Throne) would be cool.

"I... I was not at the Wrathgate. But the soldiers who survived told me much of what happened. Your son fought with honor. He died a hero's death. He deserves a hero's burial. "

Broxigar at the War of the Ancients is Knaak-fueled atrocity; why Blizzard keeps giving that guy free reign to define canon I don't know. I prefer the "original" timeline, in which Orcs don't appear on Azeroth until the First War.Varok Saurfang is pretty cool, though, even as a (mostly) Alliance player I'll admit that. And I was sad when Draenosh died.
