Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling image gallery

Like most licensed Blizzard products, these plushies are very high quality. I was almost surprised by the amount of work put into the little details. The necklaces (bibs? zoo-tabards?) worn by the plushies are embroidered. They're not screen-printed felt or anything like that, so I don't expect they'll come apart anytime soon. The plushies also shipped in individual drawstring bags to carry and store them in, so they're not exposed to the elements when you inevitably shove them in your closet because really, are you going to keep these on display forever? Probably not!
I do still think that $25 price tag for a stuffed animal is incredibly steep, but considering what people were willing to pay for in-game pets alone, it's not anymore expensive than what you would usually pay for a Blizzard product. Keep an eye on the site, because we might have a pair of these to give away in the coming weeks.

Wow, those are a lot larger than I'd thought they would be.
Alex Ziebart Feb 27th 2010 2:06PM
Well, my sister is actually very small, so they might not be as big as they look. They're bigger than, say... Beanie Babies were, but they're not huge.

Sister?
I thought that was your daughter @_____@
I am teh confused
Nazgûl Feb 27th 2010 2:19PM
Ah, well, I assumed they'd be Beanie Baby sized.
Alex Ziebart Feb 27th 2010 2:21PM
@ben
Oh good gosh no. I'm only 23. My sister and I have significant age gap between us, but she is definitely not my daughter.
Matthew Feb 27th 2010 2:31PM
Since I only play horde, can i remove the ally griffon bib and use it as, oh, a coaster?
Gessilea Feb 27th 2010 3:06PM
The size of your sister aside, I was definitely expecting something closer to beanie baby size. Definitely adorable, though I'm afraid I fall into the category of people who's really only interested in the in-game versions and don't feel like spending all that money on a stuffed animal. Too bad I don't have some young relative to pawn it off on as a present, keeping the in-game code for myself...
Possum Feb 27th 2010 5:22PM
Well now I'm definitely confused about size. Can you place your sister next to a quarter or your authenticator so we can correctly gauge her size and so the size of the plushies? ;)
On another note, which one does she think is cuter, the Gryphon or Wind Rider? :D
Alex Ziebart Feb 27th 2010 5:23PM
She called the Wind Rider "freaky" but liked the gryphon.
Possum Feb 27th 2010 7:00PM
She's Alliance? Oh noes!

Bad thing about your giveaways is they're U.S. only :/

Also, when I see Blizzard Europe contests, there is never my country there even though I live in the country that is the geographical center of Europe.
Here, I never get the good stuff of the world I can drool over through internet. *sob*

Those plushies are indeed obnoxiously cute. Wish I could see more than just the first image in the gallery though; WoW.com image galleries have been broken for me for a while.
Alex Ziebart Feb 27th 2010 2:09PM
If you're using a script blocker, you need to allow aol.com and aolcdn.com for them to work.
Monsoon Feb 27th 2010 4:52PM
No dice on that. Just told NoScript to allow both those domains, and I still can't see anything but the first image in the gallery.
Sane Feb 27th 2010 5:01PM
You also have to allow blogsmithmedia.com for it to work. I also use Firefox with NoScript and only when I allowed all three did the image gallery work. Hope it helps.

Will the giveaway include the code for the in-game pets? I don't want the in-game pet bad enough to purchase a stuffed animal for it... :/
William Feb 27th 2010 2:25PM
man i hope they come this week,
BillDoor Feb 27th 2010 2:31PM
I got mine on Friday. They're pretty great. They're very well made, I'm sure they'll withstand the abuse my two year old gives them for awhile.
The in-game pets are excellent too!
