I do not believe, as seems to be taken for granted in this discussion, that Knaak is actually trying to be a great novelist, but failing.On the contrary, I believe that Knaak sees himself as a competent writer who can churn out fluff for the fantasy shelves, and he'll take contract work from Blizzard or anyone else to put food on the table.In other words, he'll give it the ol' college try, get it done within deadline, but he's just not emotionally invested in the stories.
