I don't personally see why it makes a difference. Blizzard saw that the content was only being touched just barely by a handful of guilds. They want people to see a little more than the first tier of ICC; I presume they don't want people getting bored before Cataclysm grinding frost badges in heroics for months on end. If people need it to get going onto say, Putricide or beyond, then so be it. It's a good thing (tm).

Our guild turned it off and downed our usual content this week becuase we didn't need it. However, it would help burn through the farm content a lot faster which is a nice thing. The faster we can move onto new fights, the better IMO.
