If someone needs flasks for raiding, they need those flasks regardless of how expensive the Frost Lotus is. If someone needs chant mats for their new gloves, they need them regardless of how expensive the Infinite Dust is.
You say that this has always worked for you in WoW. You know what has always worked for me? This rock that I carry around to prevent bear attacks! I've been carrying it for over a quarter decade, and I've never once been attacked by a bear.
