Patch 3.3.3 PTR: Build 11643 notes

Mounts and pets
But first, check out Lil' XT! Doesn't your Lil' KT want a lil' company? No idea where this lil' guy will come from as of yet, but it could be a future purchasable pet joining the likes of the Pandaren Monk and Lil' KT!
Both the Celestial Steed and X-53 Touring Rocket (screenshot) now have their own spells and have 310% flying speed.
Icecrown Citadel
There's been some issues with absorption effects like Power Word: Shield not benefiting from the raid buffs that Wrynn and Hellscream provide. That will be addressed shortly with patch 3.3.3.
- Strength of Wrynn and Hellscream's Warsong now also boost the effect of damage absorption spells.
These changes could be temporary and could be reversed at any time. They're not in the official notes.
Death Knights
- Glyph of Icebound Fortitude now always grants at least 40% damage reduction.
- Glyph of Scourge Imprisonment now reduces the cast time of your Shackle Undead by 1 sec. (Up from 0.5 sec)
- Glyph of Feint now reduces the energy cost of Feint by 20. (Up from 10)
- Glyph of Expose Armor now increases the duration of Expose Armor by 12 sec. (Up from 10 sec)
- Glyph of Deadly Throw now increases the slowing effect on Deadly Throw by 20%. (Up from 10%)
Other changes
Warlocks
- Dark Pact now has a 100 yards range (up from 30 yards) and ignores the line of sight.

I don't know why you gotta jump on this being Goblin engineering as opposed to any engineering. The Turbo Flying Machine had a similar face and any engineer could make it. I can't imagine that they would have something so cool be so specific. Besides, I tend to agree with the comment that we probably wont be allowed to craft it anyway. Maybe a 1 shot raid boss drop like the multi passenger mammoth from the VOA bosses.
EIther way its the cats freaking pajamas!

"And what, pray tell, would Gnomish Engineers get?"
They get to make little XT ofcourse :p
Neuropox Mar 8th 2010 6:57PM
The little XT was old news i thought. If i remember correctly it was a PTR reward for 3.1 when bosses dropped something besides loot.... or perhaps im just going senile, but i swear ive seen this on the PTR before

I like new pets. But darnit Blizzard, give us a way to acquire them that doesn't require a credit card!

Cash will do just fine :)

Glyph of Scourge Imprisonment now reduces teh cast time of your Shackle Undead by 1 sec. (Up from 0.5 sec)
3 things wrong with this sentence
1) Who and Why would anyone ever need this?
2) Why fix it if nobody uses the skill anyway?
3) Theres a teh instead of the.
Neuropox Mar 8th 2010 7:13PM
Ive used this in H PoS and the ICC heroics... but i will agree it is quite limited use
Matticus Mar 8th 2010 7:17PM
Thanks. Stealth fixt.

Yeah the times it was used in groups I was in, a gain of .5 seconds wouldn't have made it better in any way. Someone cast it on one of the mobs, and it was out of the fight till we were done with the rest. He wasn't spam casting it or anything.
However, one could maybe see use for this in leveling, and quite a few talents/spells/glyphs are out there purely for leveling.

Shackle Undead is definitely used in pvp vs. a DK's ghoul (and probably the DK himself if he pops Lichborne), but I can't see this replacing any other pvp priest glyph.
I feel for you...the rogue glyphs that were "buffed" are still as useless as ever.
Spazmoose Mar 8th 2010 10:29PM
OMG NO WAI TEHY BUFFT SCURGE IMPRISINMINT GLIFF
The Scourge Imprisonment glyph is still amazingly lackluster, and I know very, very few people in PvE or PvP situations that would take this glyph, unless you knew you were taking on a DK in PvP.
As far as its usefulness in PvE, there is very few, unless your raid is having severe difficulties with certain trash pulls in ICC, and even then Shackle will just get broken by the AoE that is happening.
My question for Blizz: At this point in the expansion, why bother buffing a glyph that is generally considered by most to be useless.

>now reduces teh

:OOOOOOO I AM BOTH SHOCKED AND APPALLED

I'm really happy with this Dark Pact change! And, that Lil' XT looks adorable. I really hope that I'll be able to get one.
And, being an die-heard Engineer, I MUST get that rocket mount. But, if it is 310%, I fear that it won't be easily obtainable. :(
I would love it if that rocket mount was crafted by Engineers. I don't want it to be engineer only to ride it. But, I just don't want it to be some super rare raid drop. I can't raid and I'm already bummed that I will practically never have a chance at Mimi's Head. Well, maybe someday. Although, I just wish that Engineers could craft things that were as epic as Mimiron's Head. Not that I don't LOVE my 'copter mounts. And, I'm very grateful for the choppa. However, I'd have been far more happy if it didn't cost a fortune to make, even for Engineers. But, the designers are definitely capable of awesome Engi looking style mounts, like Mimiron's Head, the 'copters, and now this rocket. I hope that in the future we'll have more mount schematics.
MusedMoose Mar 8th 2010 7:19PM
I really, really, really hope that rocket mount isn't something you get from the CCG or similar. My future NE mage wants to fly fast and wreak havoc all over Azeroth with that thing. ^_^

I want the name and address of the individual who answered, "My Shackle of Undead should be better," when asked what priests would like in the newest patch.
Not asking out of maliciousness.
I just feel it's my civic duty to go to that person's house, delete WoW from their computer, then charge his/her parents with incest.
All for the public good, you know.

I'm afraid none of the rogue glyph buffs did much to make those glyphs attractive, for endgame, leveling, or PVP, mainly because they are all still major glyphs and are totally outclassed by all the other ones. The Feint glyph in particular seems like a great candidate to be made into a minor - just about every rogue would take it for at least PVE. The Deadly Throw glyph similarly seems like it should be a minor glyph - 50% snare versus 70% snare for what is a situational (though very handy) ability doesn't justify a major glyph expenditure. Most rogues I think would take that for their PVP spec were it minor. Expose Armor - meh, I haven't ever been asked to use that for a raid, so I'll leave that for other commenters to maybe handle.

"New toys? For me? Oh, I promise I won't break them this time!"
brian Mar 8th 2010 10:50PM
Egads! If you took Mini-XT into the XT 2000 fight, would they play? :O
...and would Mini-XT get broken? :(

Anyone else get teh background downloader kicking in tonight?
dawnseven Mar 8th 2010 11:16PM
Me. :)
Haven't seen a word that the patch is actually dropping though (in fact, MMO Champ says it isn't) so I guess they're just pushing some of it that's done? I totally have my fingers (and toes) crossed for next week.
