The Daily Quest: Waiting for the Cataclysm

If you're playing World of Warcraft -- and reading WoW.com -- I can't imagine you aren't looking forward to the oncoming Cataclysm, at least a little. New zones, new levels, new content -- and that razor's edge of fear where you're caught between the worry they're going to nerf your favorite class to the ground (baby) and the hope that the expansion will offer everything your virtual heart desires. It should come as no surprise that Cataclysm is on a lot of bloggers' minds... even when Blizzard isn't releasing very much info. So for today, some musing on Cataclysm and what the future of the game might hold.
- Big Bear Butt wonders if our expectations are too high.
- Critical QQ is getting tired of being told about everything that will be fixed in Cataclysm.
- Dechion's Place discusses nine things he'd like to see in Cataclysm.
- Healer Envy ponders a plan for shaman tanking.

I love BBB and his Blog, but, I have never, ever been more excited by an expansion and the chance to roll a new toon than I have in Cataclysm.
I cannot wait to roll 1 to 85 on my new Worgen Druid.

Worgen Druid?
You mean being a big bad werewolf that shapes into a cute kitteh to deal more damage?
Yeah totally badass >.

My expectations are low, as a rogue I will be fine anyway. The only thing I expect is to have an epic back [Cape of Fixed Vanish] and a cloak overlay for it [Overcloak of Vanished Hopes]. Both have nasty skull on it.

I don't know if I can do Outland for a 5th time. So. Much. Poo.

The poo quests are skipable. Now if only Hellfire Peninsula could be entirely skipped...
Actually, it probably could be if you've gotten decent gear via some other means.

Unfortunately the Hellfire quest rewards are pretty much better, and easier to obtain, than anything else ... Hellfire sucks though, it is true. It's too red and too lifeless and too ugly. Even the orcs in Hellfire are uglier than regular orcs.

I remember back in Vanilla whem Shammies *could* tank...
And I want those days back...

I like the idea of Shaman tanking, was an interesting read. I'd personally like it more totem based than spell based. Talents to make totems affect you more (so for example a talent that would make Stoneskin totem increase your armour much more than it does now-and only you, not the whole party) and a couple of other changes. No point in me writing an article myself about so so I won't add much more, and though a Shaman tree would need some serious changing it would be pretty awesome to see them tank.

Every expansion comes with the promise of fixing everything. Every expansion doesn't do that. Every expansion brings forth an initial over powered character to be fixed later. Every expansion brings forth a new flavor of the month class.
I expect nothing different with Cataclysm.

My expectations are through the roof. I pretty much hated BC, Wrath has been much better, very good indeed, Cata sounds great.

All I have to say is,
OMG OMG OMG YAY MOAR QWEST!
I looooove questing, was almost disappointed when I got Loremaster, until I realized how many more quests were left to do. When Cata hits, I'll probably haul my pasty undead warlock ass down to the low level zones to check out the changes and new quests, before I even start leveling and before everyone else levels to gank me. Then after dealing with the level 85's for a couple weeks I'll get down to leveling. We shall see.
O! Also the professions. Archaeology sounds awesome.
