I always thought a paladin WOULD play like this. You know, like DPSing like ret. And then if the raid is dying could pop something similar to a priests divine hymn. Personally, I think blizzard could have done more with hybrid classes other than offer us talent trees for either tanking, DPS, or healing. They could have integrated them to become... omg... a hybrid class! Where they could semi fit other roles.I mean, it's not completely unfathomable to have a healer dishing out DPS (like a passive proc spell). Or a DPS being emergency tank, or having higher STAM just so they wouldn't need to be healed as often. There would be an incentive for hybriding too. Just as an example.A normal priest heals for 1000A hybrid shaman heals for 700 but deals dps of like 500. Giving an overall HIGHER benefit, but generally lacking in specialty in one field. This is somewhere I think blizzard had the initial idea of hybrids like this, but discovered it was too much trouble and too much math and made pallys just suitable for all 3 roles instead of integrating.

That's a pretty good idea, but there wouldn't be an incentive to bring the hybrid class over a "pure" healer or dpser. It's basically Vanilla all over again.
