Mac drivers to be available for all Razer mice

Prior to the Razer DeathAdder Mac Edition in 2008, all Razer mice and peripherals only had native Windows support and drivers. While these products would generally work with a Mac through its plug-and-play technology, customizing them was more difficult and in some cases, impossible. In order to configure my Razer Lachesis to make all its buttons usable on my Mac, I had to configure it on a PC and mapped some of the buttons as little used keyboard keys because the Mac wouldn't recognize click-throughs from more than a few mouse buttons.
This situation improved with the release of the Razer Naga, which shipped with native Mac support, although the key-mapping functionality for the Mac came several weeks after the PC version. Currently, newer mice come with basic Mac support, although Razer promises the same functionality and customizability as their PC counterparts through future updates. Razer also promises to release Mac drivers for all existing products, which presumably includes their line of headsets and keyboards. While Mac gamers have always been treated as second class citizens by most peripheral manufacturers, it's encouraging to see a major player pay the community some attention. I mean, the Magic Mouse is awesome and all, but there's nothing like having a real gaming mouse to play WoW.

"Inside Magic Mouse is a chip that tells it exactly what you want to do."
Holy shit, Apple has created a psychic piece of hardware. We're all going to die.

To be fair, are you really surprised?

From a Mac user who has a Naga, thank you Razer.
My experience is that their products seem well built, and their support is no worse than many other peripheral manufacturers.
"When the difference between victory and defeat is determined between heartbeats" a Razer mouse will be up to the task :)

I have to agree with this. My boyfriend just bought me the Naga and I can't thank Razer enough for helping me to avoid the awkward, "Um, that's very sweet, but I can't use it with my Mac," conversation that would surely have crushed him a little.

Can anyone help with the 2 right side buttons on the Razer Orochi??? I love the mouse i just wish those 2 buttons could actually be used.
Thanks in advance!
PS. Razer support did nothing to help me. Tried twice.

ive got the new DeathAdder, the 3.5G sensor one that i picked up a month or so back. It came with mac drivers, even though its not the dedicated Mac one (the Mac one had half the DPI, and bigger = better)
but yeah, this is cool. always happy to see more mac support

I have a Razer Krait - a pretty simple 3 button mouse - for my Mac. I purchased it under the impression that there was PC/Mac universal drivers for the mouse. There wasn't.
Sure, you can plug it in and use it, but the sensitivity is off the charts and you'll probably struggle to get your cursor over the World of Warcraft icon in your dock just to launch the program!
I downloaded and eventually bought a Mac application to handle all mouse devices - and I've now got a little sliding scale that lets me adjust down the sensitivity somewhat. I've adapted and overall I'm pretty damn happy.
Then my sister (a PC user) bought the same mouse and I saw how much she was able to adjust the sensitivity and tracking of the mouse to suit her and I was pretty jealous: this is what I was missing out on!
My mouse is still a bit twitchy, so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on your Mac software. Thank you Razer!
ps. Razor mice are absolutely beautiful and well worth the expense, even if you don't want a fancy multiple button one.

very happy to hear this.

Finally, Mac users will have more than one button!

I had more than one button when I was using the Logitech Revolution MX. But it doesn't compare to the number of buttons I have available on the Razer Naga.
Though, I do miss the secondary wheel on the side of the MX. It was nice to be able to bind that to up/down for flying and swimming ease. Now I just have to use a button or two for that, but ah well.

Thats not correct. I have had the "Razer Pro|Solutions" for a long time and it was designed for use with a mac. It may have been the only one but it has been around since OSX 10.3.9 .

OMG THEY HAVE TO INSTALL DRIVERS!!! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO!!!
I kid, i kid, my favorite WoW buddy plays on a mac too. But when commercials make such a big deal that everything just WORKS, you start to wonder what "everything" encompasses.
KrusherX Mar 12th 2010 6:25AM
Well I asked myself the same question. As a recent PC to Mac convert, I have yet to install a driver, I wonder how it will package, most probably a small application that installs in system preferences like Perian or Flip4Mac
