Patch 3.3.3 PTR: Ruby Sanctum and Echo Isles music
Celestial steeds and more toys aren't the only new things coming in patch 3.3.3! With the new content also comes a variety of new music. Savvy dataminer Leviathonlx dug up several new tracks for the big events going on in the new patch. Accompanying the trolls in Operation Echo Isles will be an epic score tailored to the event, whether the calm before combat, the thick of the battle, or the climax of the fight, the music will get you in the mood for the voodoo.
Also uncovered was a track centered around the Ruby Sanctum. Not to be outdone by the trolls, the Red Dragonflight has made a strong showing with spooky music all their own.
Blizzard has always made it a point to use mood- and setting-appropriate music in all of their zones, instances and, on a larger scale, games. These cinematic-style tracks are no exception.
Be sure to check back often, as we'll keep you up to date with all news about Patch 3.3.3.

Very excited for 3.3

I was excited for 3.3 too, but it came out in December. That last .3 at the end is important, people!

Not to nitpick, but technically the Ruby Sanctum music would be coming in patch 3.3.5 right? In fact, do we know for sure that the Troll/Gnome events are in 3.3.3? Hadn't really thought about it till just now....

They don't have to be in to be in the patch.
Dwarven Totems, for example, were added in in 3.2.
Just added for later.

All of this music is in the 3.3.3 PTR patch, that's why we can listen to it. When we'll be able to hear the music in-game is an entirely different question.

I don't think the gnomeregan or echo isles are coming out in 3.3. They said so in a twitter dev chat. Cool music though, can't wait!

Pulling out the relevant information, the answer was, "We don't have an exact time yet, but we would like players to have a good month or two to play through these events to help build the back story for what is going to happen in Cataclysm." They neither confirmed nor denied that the event would be occurring in 3.3.3.

I like it, sounds like something out of Monster Hunter.

The 1st one reminds me somewhat of the theme from BSG.

64 kbps, it hurts my ears! Otherwise, neat.

I quite like the ZF Quiet track... Zul'Aman was such a great instance.. nice, relaxed 10-man fun and quite unique loot. I guess it's a shame there was no 25-man version for the Pros, but even so, the music at the end was fun and this track is similar to Asuremyst Isle from TBC.
I like it..
Doesn't quite create the mood for nuke-fests in the field of strife, though... perhaps I need something a bit heavier...
.... Perry Como....
Or...
Percy Faith.
Aah, yeah... tear the mo'fucking roof down Percy! Yo yo yo! Whassup, Liberty City!
..... Oops.

Is it just me or has Blizzard really kicked butt this expansion with the soundtrack? Vanilla had some memorable ones, BC had one or two, WotLK pretty much everything.
Jejin Mar 11th 2010 9:48PM
I can't agree more, Blizzard has really stepped up their game in terms of music.
Alanid Mar 12th 2010 11:15AM
Very much so - and these songs that they are adding in 3.3.3 are also amazing. Can't wait to hear the Cataclysm soundtrack.

This reminds me of homeworld music, against the tusken raiders
TheChao Mar 12th 2010 12:28AM
+50 points for referencing Homeworld. loved that game, loved its music

i wonder when we'll see new "skins" for the faction leaders...
*sigh

They've been adding new skins quite steadily - they updated Varian's look (with disastrous results imho ... a human king should not have blood elf hair), they updated Sylvanas' ... and although she isn't strictly a faction leader, Jaina has either had her skin updated, or will soon have, not sure which. Considering there are faction leaders who will be leaving their posts in Cataclysm, it remains to be seen if Blizzard decide to change their skin.

Holy crap, and I thought the Gnomergan battle music was epic. That troll battle music makes me wanna roll a troll and run into battle screaming 'FOR VOL'JIN!'
Strigiforme Mar 12th 2010 3:09AM
This. Listening them in logical order (calm, med, big) makes it even worse. I've never rolled a troll before, but I might have to for this event.
