Around Azeroth: Kiko and the lavender moon
Yes, yes, it's my second Los Lobos reference in as many days, but they're a good band and "That Train Don't Stop Here" is pretty tight. Anyway, Karli sent in this screenshot of her character using the Rituals of the New Moon to give her lupine friend some companionship. I'd be somewhat concerned that when she changes back in two minutes she'll be the other wolf's dinner, but even if it wasn't domesticated, WoW wolves of this particular fur color tend to be under level 10.
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Now THAT is a beautiful screenshot! Speaking of wolves, I saw a hunter tonight with one I'd never seen before - cobalt blue with glowing blue teeth, eyes, claws and some kind of electric discharge thing going on. Nice!

That is technically not a wolf, but a spirit beast :)
Riari Mar 12th 2010 12:34PM
Huh, sounds a lot like Skoll.

I have a hunter that would love to have him as a pet. :)

Skoll. Yep, that's him! Awesome!

That is the wolf that I run with all the time ATM... to the neglect of my other beasties. They are going to be cranky when I let them out to stretch their legs. ;)
Skoll is an amazing model. :)

One week, two posts named after Los Lobos songs. Nice!

Under level 10? Man, that wolf is gonna be disappointed when he realizes that all the food in Outland is level 60-somethin'.

Aw, you don't normally see hunters running around with prairie wolves anymore! I love that model. Gorgeous screenshot. :)

I'm running with one, I love the bark. I got tired of having the Vargul Blighthound that everyone had. :P

I have one too, got him from Westfall. I really prefer the old-world wolf model to the worgs and Northrend wolves, and I like the coloring of the coyotes.
Wolfcat Mar 12th 2010 3:13PM
I've got that wolf model on my Alliance hunter. She has the northrend model as well now that she's gotten there, but the favorite is still the first. Never liked the wolves that looked like the orc mounts, so never got that kind.

I use one of the wolves from Mulgore all the time on my main. I got kind of attached to it, since it was the first thing I ever tamed.
Oldbear Mar 13th 2010 12:16AM
I've had one since day one... even in the beta.

I think of Final Fantasy VII when seeing this. People who have played through it will know what I'm talking about. Nanaki and Seto, anyone?
Theyas Mar 12th 2010 1:59PM
Also, I know Nanaki and Seto were cat-like beasts, but it still instills the picture in your mind.
Darkember Mar 12th 2010 2:24PM
lovely picture, kudos to the taker!
Yeng Mar 12th 2010 2:58PM
You're only one wolf short of 3 Wolf Moon, it had good potential...
