The difference between a good frost mage and an average one usually comes down to cooldown management. Knowing when to use Icy Veins and when to use Cold Snap is essential to get the most out of the spec. One tip is you should always try and use Cold Snap immediately after casting a Deep Freeze. This way you can hope to get Fingers of Frost so you can cast it again without having to wait for that painfully long cooldown.
