Gamer am I said...
Heroics I hate running? Hell, I hate running all of them at this point. There's no challenge left in instances anymore, and if I get a group with someone in low gear who may make it a challenge, I am too spoiled by gear inflation to appreciate my good luck. I even hate the new instances at this point: FoS is too big for the amount of enemies it has, PoS has too much trash, and HoR is just so difficult it's tedious. There's no excitement in heroics anymore; it's just walk in, blow things up in the fact, get your emblems walk out.
I'm not afraid of HoS anymore, but I was before I beat it for the first time. As a tank, there is just so little I can do to make the run better if the healer just can't keep up or people refuse to use their crowd control or let me group up the mobs, and I hate the feeling of powerlessness. You know what? I think I just hate people. That's probably the source of most of my issues with PuGs.

I couldn't have said it better myself! People can (and will) ruin anything in the game by acting like a jackass, not listening or following orders, or just being plain stupid.

I play as a mage, and I do try to CC mobs in FoS and PoS where a ranged caster mob stands outside the control range of a tank. However what happens most times is some primal urge to smash critters takes over a DPS and they zip off(or send their pet) to smack it and break the CC. I've mostly given up trying to CC, I even tell groups before pulls "See that marked mob, I can CC it and keep a lot of damage off the group until we are ready to kill it." What happens? Stray arrow and hunter pet blow the polymorph and mob proceeds to aggro and kill a group member. /shrug
Too often dps classes decide to target a mob other than the tank's focus and think "tank will see what I'm doing and pull it off me". Er, no. Go rez yourself.
