Continuing the question about DK and Maces, then my question is this:Why do they need so many different weapon types if they're going to give everything to everyone? Is it mostly just for flavor?I thought the logic behind dagger vs sword is that, dagger is more rogue-ish and therefore will be laden with Agility, while sword is more warrior and paladin-ish and thus should sport mostly Strength. Likewise, Mace is more a healer weapon (think medieval age clerics) and thus usable by holy pallys, priests, druid (but only provide sp bonus in tree form, etc).

they got rid of 1handed strength weapons with WotLK because warriors got TG and were no longer dual-wielding 1handers. So that left rogues, hunters and shaman as the primary DW-er's, and they are all agi-focused. DK's can use 2 1handers, but then people would complain about how there are items usable only by one spec of one class (just look at all the people who think spell power plate is a stupid idea). At the same time, they didn't want a raid to have a nice 1h axe drop with gobs of agi and AP but have no hunters and no shaman and the poor rogue sitting there drooling saying "My kingdom for axe skill!" so they gave them axes. And there was rejoicing.
