The point is you can listen to dozens of alternative bands with female vocalists who sound *just* like she does. Their lyrics aren't terribly thoughtful or catchy and she always looks like she's deliberately trying to look bored/tired/who knows. I said ubiquitous because it applies here, both concerning her look (I live in a city so I see enough hipsters to choke the Grand Canyon and 90% of the females look like this) and her voice, which I've already stated, seems to come from everywhere alternative radio is played. It's also quite a popular vocal style for commercials which speaks volumes about its appeal. There. Straightforward enough? I ratcheted down the clever so as not to seem like I'm trying to be clever. Did it work? /eyeroll
p.s. there are plenty of male vocalists out there as well that I share the same detached dislike for, for very similar reasons. they're neither challenging or exciting to listen to. it's like listening to paint dry.
