I'm a little more annoyed with the Gnomeregan ret-con, but oh well.

He didn't survive a beheading. The retcon states that the beheadings were just illusions and were really either painted rocks or coconuts, or even the heads of some of the enslaved trolls.

I didn't expect that kind of retcon, I figured they would just ignore it. Very clever.
