I will go out on a limb here by saying it will actually be patch 3.9. However, I will also point out that THIS MEANS NOTHING! WTF is this: "otherwise that means Cataclysm is farther away then we can possibly imagine". NO IT DOESN'T! Yeesh. They could call it "Patch Adams" and it would imply just as much about when Cataclysm comes. Patch 3.9 might be the first patch following patch 3.3.5 for all we know. It's a common tradition in software engineering to refer to the last patch before a major one as x.9, regardless of what the previous patch was. It's most often seen before first release (beta versions often numbered like 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.9, then finally 1.0, 0.9 being essentially the 1.0 release candidate), but it occurs other times a well. It may very will be that it will be patch 3.9. But whether it is or isn't means absolutely nothing at all whatsoever and gives us no information at all about how many more patches there will be before then. Which is probably the whole point of calling it that...
