Breakfast Topic: I don't have one of those

I don't have a single rogue on my account on any of the servers I even semi-regularly play on. Oh, sure, I've rolled rogues. The most recent rogues I created were so my wife could do something to them for a holiday. I don't even remember what. But I do know that I deleted them shortly after.
It's like the class is made of teflon or something. I simply cannot grab hold of it. So many people really seem to like them, but every time I try and play one it's as if someone was slapping my soul with fish recently caught off the shore of a sewage treatment plant. To say I hate playing them is like saying the Hulk has a small impulse control issue. Hunters, paladins, druids... these are classes I'm not particularly fond of, true, but I've at least managed to get them all past level 40. I've yet to be able to keep playing a rogue for more than three hours before logging off in disgust and deleting the character. One time I deleted my rogue so fast I accidentally left the heirloom shoulders and chest on him, and my loathing for the class is so strong that I didn't even petition the GM for a restore. I accepted that it was my fault for playing a rogue in the first place.
So yeah, I don't have a rogue. I have a mage, I have a warlock, I have a priest, I even have a death knight. But I don't have a rogue. I wish I even understood why they just fill me with this total sense of pure revulsion. It's weird. Then again I'm hardly known for how calm, rational and comprehensible I am. I mean, I keep trying! I think gnome rogues look badass, their combat animations are awesome, and so I roll one over and over and over again. Pure insanity. Look how cool they look using fist weapons! If only I didn't have to actually play a class to have one.
So what don't you have? A class you won't play, a drop you refuse to get, an achievement you won't do?

Mages. Press one button all day. ALL DAY! It's impossible for me to play this class.
BIacked Out Mar 17th 2010 8:40AM
Im a Mage. But I can see where you are coming from, our rotations allow for more thought in battle methinks.
But on topic, Hunters and DKs, soley because 99% of the people who give me headaches in this game play those classes. (Not sayin 99% of the people who play Hunters/DKs would give me a headache)
Oh yeah... and Warlocks. Because they suck.

It's true that Mage rotations are extremely simple, but at least it lets you actually see the world around you. That's pretty important if you want to both mantain good DPS and lead the raid.

Only REALLY bad mages spam one button. (or arc with all cds going and lots of mana)
Arcane spec = AB+AM - possibly slow when lvling/dungeons, occasional others when moving
Fire spec = Fireball, scortch, LB, occasional others when moving
Frost = FB, nova, blizzard, icelance (for gathering mobs), shields etc etc,
If you only spam one button - please let me meet you in arenas - would do wonderful for my rating (which is sadly at zero cos i dont do arena - but i think you get the idea)
As for me the classes i wont play - hunter, warrior, rogue - cos i just dont have the interest in em. As to achievements, i wont do the PVP achievements - barring the holiday ones - as i have no interest in PVP either. The only exception is the wg weeklys - and thats soley for 'free' epic gems

Rogues, Pallys and Druids for me.
Have rolled mutilple ones of each and get to about lvl 16-20 and lose interest.
Nex Mar 17th 2010 9:46AM
certainly warrior for me.
the class is just plain and uninteresting to watch.
sure does something with a sword or axe, but it all looks the same.
rogue is number 2, but at least they have some interesting mechanics.
but i probably wouldn't roll it, cos i find the idea of stealth to be coward.
talking from a pvp perspective obviously, cos i don't do nor care about pve

Mages are awesome,I'm sorry you can't see it :<
Anyway, I can't level a hunter past 30; god knows I've tried... I don't like the pet micro-management, I don't like the class mechanics, and most hunters I've grouped with over the years were complete numpties.
PictoKong Mar 17th 2010 10:32AM
Mages are just the best class in WoW (with priests...)
I cant roll a rogue, my feral druid got so boring i decided to switch to boomkin ASAP
and pallies (until cataclysm)... cant roll a BE, srry
And DKs, i dont like the play style

I'm rather surprised at how much irrational class hatred is out there.
I don't blame people for disliking certain classes while leveling as some are obviously easier/faster than others. However the margin of skill required (at end game) to play each class well is very slim indeed. Perhaps my lack of class bias is why I have 5 80's.
Achievements are a different story. I would rather cut my kneecaps off and kneel in piss than take the time to get Explorer, Loremaster, Insane etc.
To each their own.

Mages ain't all that boring. Staying alive is a huge part of what makes mages interesting class to play. But yea, first 20 levels it's basically one button. As I always say: we should start getting our talents from level 5, not from level 10. Right now, getting those really interesting talents which make a class fun to play takes forever.
@Tyr> dunno when you last tried playing a hunter, but good news: pet micromanagement was hugely simplified about a year ago. You no longer need to train various animals in order to learn their skills and teach them to your "main" pet. Now each pet fits into one of three pre-defined talent trees you can pick from, very much like player talents. You no longer need to visit pet trainer, and after picking proper talents, you can even stop feeding your pet altogether. It's very streamlined now.

@pictokong: You found feral druid boring!? Feral druid is one of the most complex dps specs there is.
pancakes Mar 17th 2010 8:04AM
I'm the same with hunters. Always have been, but I have no idea why.
Halicarnasus Mar 17th 2010 12:56PM
I totally have to agree with you here... Dunno what it is but I can't play hunters. Period.
They give me a headache just watching a friend play them :S ah well.... luckily I have a druid, mage, DK, rogue and priest :)
mike Mar 17th 2010 8:06AM
locks for me. i despise that they wear cloth and still have sooo much health. plus i despise fears, i hate the mechanic plus they get a freakin pet.... they make my skin crawl. i cant get one past lvl 10.
Faulken S Wulf Mar 17th 2010 8:17AM
I don't have one because I die more often with them then even my priest.
(@Hunters: There's a rotation, and PETS. I live for Pet Classes. I wish I *could* stand Warlocks.)
Terethall Mar 17th 2010 2:33PM
These days we really don't have much more health than any other cloth dps. Fear is usually useless outside of PvP. I only use it on a leveling lock if I bite off more than I can chew or I want to solo an old-world elite.
And the pets are pretty fire-and-forget. Sure, if you try to have a VW tank while you level for a while you might have to watch aggro, but they take care of themselves for the most part. Plus, there's no pet talents, no pet happiness, no pet taming, no stables, etc. to worry about. Unless it's the ease and simplicity of lock pets that turns you off. In that case... there's no helping you.
Also, you have to level to 60 just to get Meta and have a priest cast Levitate on you so you can fly around Outland /yelling "YOU. ARE NOT. PREPARED!" to like the five people in Outland at any given time.
Drunken_wookie Mar 17th 2010 8:06AM
What don't I have? Nothing.
I have one of every single class, on 2 servers (transferred my durid to join a raiding guild one of my RL friends is in).
And all of them are 40 and up.
Hi, my name is drunken_wookie, and I'm an Altoholic.
