"how much DPS we're losing by going BM"I seriously hate how that is just a given fact. =/

I'm not quite sure what you meant. If you meant "I hate that BM DPS is so low right now", then I'm 100% in agreement. It is sad.If you meant "I hate that people automatically assume there is a DPS loss when going BM", you ought to research the Hunter class a bit more. Frostheim alone has done a comprehensive job of demonstrating that at ICC gear levels, speccing BM instead of MM is a > 20% DPS loss right off the bat.

It is a given fact. I am not saying you should not raid as a BM, or that you know this BM that top meters, but MM is the spec that has the potential to achieve the best DPS that is a fact.

I stated this further down the thread, but in patch 3.3.3 BM pets will gain +1/2/3% damage increase to all raid members

Agreed. It wasn't a remark about raid viability ( which is still up in discussion) but strict DPS numbers, which has been mathematically proven ( but not by me). I think this article actually makes the case that even though BM is behind in DPS, there are still valid reasons to want a BM hunter. ( By "want" I mean in addition to possibly having a raid viable dps).

Fata -- please note that BM *already* has that buff. And of course so do ret pallies and arcane mages. So it's not a buff in the new patch -- the buff is to BM steady shot :)
