Great Article as always. As a hunter main myself, one pet that you left out of the list, is the Spider ( level 80s in Icecrown etc) are also great for PVP. With there web ability, range of 30 yards.
PVP though for hunter, is imo, one of two things:
a: Enter in all PVE gear, and sure blow things up, if your geared, but your pet gets no resilance from you, hence your pet gets one shotted
b: Enter in all PVP gear, and not blow things up so much..(cough) and your pet gets a higher chance of survival..which if your a good hunter, and good at pet managment in PVP, will make a diffrence.
The whole avoidance thing, and pet resilance, can gimp hunters in PVP, somewhat. Sorry for long post.

As noted, PvP is an entirely different beast. But since you brought it up... I liked my spider, and I like my silithid better, but I find even better than either is a Ravager. The extra stun on demand is more useful than the web more often than not.
