WoW.com's Guide to WoW Resources
If you've been following WoW.com for a while, you might have noticed some more directed community content -- things like The Daily Quest, the Weekly Podcast Roundup, and our Twitter account are helping spotlight some excellent content the greater WoW community has to offer. There's been a little less posting about other people's specific topics, but we're also going out of our way to make sure we spotlight the community via other methods.
One of these new methods, which we're pleased to bring you today, is WoW.com's Guide to WoW Resources. It's a gigantic listing of over 200 sites, blogs, and podcasts. All of these sites are updated relatively frequently, and all are great resources for the WoW community. Even though WoW.com churns out about 15 to 20 articles a day, we know you need to read at least 100 articles a day about WoW... and now you can!
Head on over to the guide and check it out. If you notice your site or your favorite hang out missing, just leave a comment below or email guides@wow.com and we'll take a look. While we've spent more hours than we care to admit putting this list together, there are no doubt a few unintentional oversights -- just let us know.
When you're looking for this listing in the future, just check up on our newly updated nav bar. It's under the "Guides" section.

Unbearably HoT closed down in january after not posting since october ;)
Was the first one that caught my eye, and the first post on it is the goodbye post.

Any chance for a mobile enhanced sitelist?

nice links. I made use of the dps one already.
wow needs more x rated character models.

I'm a mage. First thing I did was go to the mage section, and click on the first one. Now I'm here asking you to take Armageddon's Coming off your list. That man is offensive as hell, and this is coming from a long time 4channer, I don't get offended easily. He's just rude and obnoxious, and I know how most of the users from wow.com would react to his posts. (Not well)
Vandersveldt Mar 19th 2010 9:10AM
.... If you're going to vote me down, at least maybe reply and say why? I honestly thought I was trying to help out here. I started reading his articles, was super offended multiple times in quick succession, and thought I'd report that his work did not in any way reflect well on wow.com...
Did I do something wrong?
Frank Mar 19th 2010 10:02AM
i won't vote you down, but i will say i disagree with you. i love his blog. he brings an attitude of pure enjoyment of the game, plus lots of great info and links, that makes him one of my go-to reads. i agree his style may not be for everyone, but for me, he's awesome.
Coldbear Mar 19th 2010 10:09AM
Voted down for being a troll post maybe?
I took 2min to glance around the front page of his blog and found ...nothing that a reasonable person would object to.

Hey Vandersveldt, I heard that you weren't happy and I'd love to know why.
I know my recent posts have been angry (with good reason), and my emotion has shone through in sentiment and language.
Anyway, rather than marking you down, I'd like to mark you up for saying you piece.
While I wont promise that I will change my style, I would love to know what it is that upsets you enough to post such a comment.
Feel free to let me know via ContactGnome on the blog.

There have been recent updates since my first post, and maybe the new ones are the norm. I just know I went to the very first mage post, and what I got was F this, F that, and I hate blizzard.
gnomeaggedon Mar 19th 2010 9:32PM
Yeah the more recent ones are closer to the style and tone of the previous 600odd posts.
Every now and then something happens that gets to me. Account hacking and the disruption of peoples game for fun are two topics that I feel passionate about (OK, in these two examples I was beyond passionate, rather, extremely angry) and I vented.
As public as the blog may be for the viewer, it's my personal space as a writer. Most bloggers at some point in time feel the need to vent, but that doesn't make the rest of the content invalid.
Anyway.. thanks for speaking up, not once but 3 times, you are definitely not a troll and I appreciate your strength of character to speak up.
Vandersveldt Mar 20th 2010 10:52AM
Well thanks for your kind words sir. I had never read your blog before that point, and I guess it was just bad timing on my part :-P First impressions are strong, and the first impressions were 3 very negative posts. I apologize for reporting the entirety of your blog as negative energy instead of reading through more posts first

This is a great resource, good luck with keeping it up.
I do hate to point out though that WoW.com doesn't usually, at least until lately, 15-20 posts a day. It does when the news is really flowing (like with patch info/cataclysm leaks) but when news is dead, which has been most of the year till about last week, there's days when the site doesn't put out more then 5 articles a day.
Adam Holisky Mar 19th 2010 10:28AM
That's factually incorrect. Our posting schedule is at least 8am to 10pm EST every day on the hour, usually with a few more throw in for good measure. On the weekends we do every other hour. We have never posted just five articles a day.

My favorite hunter BLOG - Aspect of the Hare - is no longer being updated either. She's on hiatus (from 24 February 2010) and may or may not ever get back to WoW. Last post was 26 Feb to point to a new BLOG - not WoW related.
Perhaps you could indicate whether the BLOGs are still active? Some are good info still.
gnomeaggedon Mar 19th 2010 1:43PM
Blogs never really go inactive.. we just hibernate for differing periods... that's why my blogroll rarely gets cleansed.
Get a feedreader (like google, or yahoo)... people go... then one day, months down the track, they will reappear.
