Today we feature the last of the European winners for Alienware's Rise to Power contest. A Dead Bug's Life is the creation of Erunno and Frozen DeathKnight, two of the luminaries who regularly post over on the Myndflame site. You should remember Erunno from his outstanding work with The White Drake, a movie that helped redefine visual storytelling in Wrath of the Lich King machinima.
In contrast to the silent narrative in The White Drake, this Rise to Power movie had a great deal of dialogue. It displayed an amazing amount of wit and light-hearted characterization between the Lich King and Anub'arak. My favorite line was when Arthas complains how much fun it is to "constantly ressurect an oversized roach." I don't want to discuss the ending of the movie, since it would definitely give a significant spoiler. But let's say an old, ancient foe of the Alliance returns to join the Lich King's army.
A Dead Bug's Life is a beautiful movie. The graphics are intriguing and well done, seamlessly integrating to the story. You can really see how A Dead Bug's Life won its prize.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
It's a bit awkward in terms of sound and subtitles, isn't it? It's very nice looking, but it was too poor in terms of sound for me to laugh at it. Oh well!
"Waaaaah! No more music videos! We want machinima with stories!" And now you're seriously complaining that the BEST recent story-based movies are being posted? There truly is no pleasing everyone, is there?
HEY! I have cookie crumbs in my keyboard. And, the reason people complain about BEs is not because they are skinny (you act like their are fat, for their race, races) but because they are everywhere.
Heck, I do not mind music videos but how about we see some music videos with tauren, dwarves, or trolls? Variety is the spice of life and all that.
Also, I can only assume you play a bloodelf, and exclusively BEs.
You know, going through the posts, I haven't the foggiest idea what you're trying to prove.
First you don't want Rise to Power videos, then you go all HURRR NERDRAGE SNARF SNARF SNARF and come back and say there are lots of videos to enjoy that feature non-Belf races. So, what exactly are you complaining about? Do you seriously want to go back to GiGi and friends dropping 'phat beats' every day?
Also, try to answer just one post without trying to act like you're angry at the world for picking you last in Kickball. People might actually take you seriously.
I'm afraid PurpleEpicz trail of abuse reaches further back than this.
"Seriously? Look super nerd, get off your high thrown of twinkie wrappers and take this for what it is. It is a machinima, a short story written/animated for comedy."
"You should remember Erunno from his outstanding work with The White Drake, a movie that helped redefine visual storytelling in Wrath of the Lich King machinima."
Criticism is hardly abuse, especially when it doesn't degenerate into pathetic name calling. There's a difference between having an opinion and then being downright offensive.
.. And yet, here you are. Arguing with us. Hardly the sort of thing non-nerd types would do, right? Spending their time watching videos of a video game, eh? Hypocrisy shrouds the mirror.
Critics tend to focus their attention on a product, rather than the person who made the product. It tends to be strictly professional and personality doesn't play a part in it. That's why you sometimes get directors like Rob Schneider sending bouquets of flowers to Roger Ebert, despite negative criticism, professional and personal lives are seperate. However, you're here criticising people for who they are, and many more for who they aren't. You assume everyone here is a nerd, despite yourself. Are you that blind? Don't you realise what you're doing? It's also quote hilarious how you're willing to assume anyone who provides criticism is instantly a critic. Earned Acheivement: Ad Hominem Attacker indeed.

Hehe, that was pretty good! I had a little bit of trouble understanding some of the Scourge voices, but I do appreciate the subtitles!
