Depends. I'm Singaporean Chinese, but we do not associate ourselves with mainland Chinese, so we get the jokes since we have our own for mainland Chinese folks. Though generally, South East Asian Chinese can converse in English, so having to speak in Mandarin wouldn't even be an issue. We may however, spout insults in various hokkien, cantonese, malay, tamil, or otherwise. Multi-cultural society = multiple ways to insult people ;p (juvenile as it is, first thing you learn in another language is usually a curse word lol)
