Izzie, as someone who battled depression in my own past, it was incredibly helpful to finally hear from an objective source that suicide was a selfish thing to do. It helped me realize how many people would really be hurt if I hurt myself, and that opened the door to me realizing how fortunate I actually was to have people care about me.

I know it sounds harsh, but its actually an incredibly valuable and objective thing to say.
